The 180SS has 3 oil seals at the crank, two on the flywheel side and one on the clutch side.

The inside oil seal on the flywheel side: which way does it go?

As I understand it, spring side faces the crank (for all)

Wait for me to be corrected or confirmed though. (This is the way I installed them, but haven't run her yet)

I do not disagree with you, but if that is the case, how is that bearing lubricated? There is no hole in the casing that allows oil or fuelmix to lubricate the bearing.

So I have been wondering: if that oil seal is facing the other way, will that not allow some fuelmix to enter the bearing space, and so lubricate it?

I believe it is an oddity of the GS and SS. It gets packed up heavy with grease.

So definitely a light wheelbearing grease.
