I just completed my first long ride in a two wheeler, a ~200 mile round trip between Austin and San Antonio, via Wimberley and Canyon Lake. Just under six hours of summer riding on beautiful back roads.

When I purchased the 2021 HPE, I decided to buy the Garmin Zumo XT because of its Adventurous Routing function. I don't have a ton of time away from work, so I wanted to make the most of it. And the Garmin didn't disappoint. Its routing choices were excellent, creating a fun, beautiful and twisting ride with no routing intervention on my part.

Given what I've read here, I was surprised by the battery life. I haven't got it wired into the Vespa yet, and it made the entire trip on its internal battery. I did turn the screen brightness down significantly, to the point of it being only marginally readable at times.

I also tried a new armored mesh shirt from Skull Riderz https://skullriderz.com/?fbclid=IwAR2n0PMoJDCzfOzOejAIBsLvAZcwDX67UmBaXVZTOMfCdav6wPHdoeOS8Ic. Their ads popped up on Facebook and I decided to give them a try. I was a bit surprised after ordering to learn the article was being shipped from Pakistan (rather than a US warehouse). But I have to say, I like it.

The shirt kept me cool in the Texas heat (at least while riding). The airflow was exceptional, much better than I had expected. I was waiting on name-brand item to get back in stock at Revzilla, but I'm glad I tried the Skull Riderz option. It looks good (like a nice grey plaid shirt), has removable armor, and keeps me cool.

Now the HPE is ready for its 600 mile service.

This hilly roads and varying speed limits made it easy to avoid keeping a constant RPM during the engine break in period...

Good stuff... congrats!

How are you getting those data plots (altitude & rpm)?

It is from the Vespa app connected to a SuperTech. Probably the only real benefit to the TFT display vs. analog.
