Yep, the plan is strip all bubbles as clean as possible, Eastwood Fast Etch, and Owatrol oil plus wax. Rails to be done with bolts instead of rivets to facilitate maintenance as required.

You want the violent or tool-based option?

You can drive a couple chisels or screwdrivers into the gap between the crank and bearing, and work it off that way. Plan on a fair amount of profanity and probably a blood sacrifice.

Or you can buy a buy tools and go the civilized route.

Choice is up to you.

you can use a a factory tool:

or you can roll this way:

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

like this:

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

either way you gonna need this:

don't resort to violence, a deft touch with a little heat and swearing will get you there without wrecking the crank and giving a blood sacrifice.

damn, that's $100 part, and changing to some other tree comes with a bigger price tag in loose gears, so I guess $100 it is unless Greasy comes up with something from the stash.

Y'know if you were a proper bodge builder, you'd just rivet that sucker back together and get on with your build. It has eleven other teeth, after all. How important can any one of them be?

that was my thought as well... I was like, ehhh... not so bad. you could probably weld that and it'd be fine. but then I saw they were available and not a whole bucket full of money. so that just comes down to time vs money and what's an acceptable level of risk you're willing to take on that repair.

2 port sprint 20.17D carb cleaned in the ultrasonic

40 idle
60 choke
180/E1/86 stack

That's some funky jetting - doesn't seem to correspond to the sprint motor it's attached to.

That's gotta be a 98 (there's not an 86 main that I'm aware of), but only a micrometer knows for sure.

As best I recall, my sprintV came with a 20/20 on it. Is yours a 2-port?

yeah this engine is a 2 port Bajaj sprint based on the gearing. There is no sprint to go with the engine, alas. But it will be a good fit for the VBB project.

Both, but my small mains have only been recently bought for the LML engine.

It's pretty well stocked for SI carbs.

I know, now I feel like I have to take the glove box black also. Maybe just the door would do? The floor mat will fix the floor. I've pondered a vinyl wrap for the door but I'm afraid the latch won't work with that idea. I'm thinking some stickers like the ska guy might save the effort and work.

keep it clean and not too busy looking. just the door would look wacky, so if you do it go whole hog.
