Pro tip: if you make her something with your newly acquired contraption it makes for smoother sailing.

Door pulls for the kitchen cabinets, napkin rings, some type of necklace jewelry, a custom holder for her phone/book/tablet, flower vase (WITH FLOWERS ya dum-dum!), basically anything that she would see or use on the regular.

It's like when you get a welder, now you find all this stuff that needs welding. You have a mill, you can custom make stuff and now the war department wants all this custom things and stuffs.

You gotta pitch it in the right light.

Also. Foot rubs and wine. Like, aaalllll the wine. And do the dishes. Pork chops help here too. And if you gotta pull it all out: waffles to seal the deal.

I managed to get a thumbs up on building a blacksmith forge in my yard. I'll need to sit quiet on new structural changes to our property for a while so I don't push it!

Knowing when to seek forgiveness and when to seek permission can definitely be a fine line sometimes. I definitely got a couple toes over it with the Stella+Smallie purchase, but once the Stella is offloaded, that'll be well again.

Same boat different paddles on a stella purchase. I was almost in Dutch with birbs and cast unto couchlandia for exile.

Doing the floors and a few loads of laundry, roasted a chicken and made a nice chopped salad brought it all back to square.

She's still mad that it's not for her, though. Guess I gotta buy another.

*sighs deeply*

My wife sent me this picture saying she thought it looked cool. I should start keeping an eye out for an old Honda Spree or Elite. They turn up around here for a few hundred bucks. See if she'd go for a twistie.

John, since you were worrying about it before I threadjacked you with pictures of ugly vehicles, I found the bit of aluminum I snapped off my Sprint cases to fit the 7 spring clutch.

That and dremeling back the oil guide on the 6-spring cover to match the 7-spring cover and I was good-to-go.

chandlerman - I'm worried that you kept that, but thanks!

I rode the PX to work today. I was able to get a quick speedo check on the radar sign by the preschool . The speedo is ~7% high, normal for Vespa. My 90 km/h (indicated) sweet spot is in the low 50's MPH. That means it's geared perfectly for my local riding. It struggles up the biggest hill on my commute, needing a drop to 3rd. Given that it's a stock 150 PX cylinder on there, I think that's a good place to land. Honestly there's really no need for more. I need that work commute to really see where I'm at because all of the bikes have been on it and then I have a much better frame of reference.

I know people hate the Sito but I'm kind of digging it.

kept verb, past tense:
1. Have or retain possession of;
2. Dropped on workshop floor, found later while sweeping up and photographed.
sdjohn wrote:

I ran my first Sito until I blew a huge hole in the bottom of it. I wouldn't choose it if I were buying new, but the price was right at the time and it still gets the job done if it's what you have on hand.

Ok left to right, clutch side seal, fly side seal, and ?. It's way too small to seal the axle bearing…. This motor doesn't have the screw in castellated thing.

This is a sprint motor which will be built as 8" for a VBB

And why is the fly side axle bearing never in the kit?? Another order needed.

The gear stack needs a 2nd or 3rd oversized spacer anyway, so the order is not in vain.

They were all over Dallas back in the day for some reason. Or maybe there were only like, two, and they just happened to be super-noticeable (as intended).

We now return you to your regularly scheduled motor building

So in which direction does this washer get bent? And how, given the lack of access?

I found it in the gasket kit. It's torqued and the flats landed at 90* to each other.

yeah, it's a super-thin washer so you can jam a pick or sharp screwdriver up under it and tweak it just enough it holds the top in place.

If you really need me to, I can go pull the shift box off my VBB's motor and snap a picture/measure since it's on a shelf.
