And defeated.
New coil fouling on flywheel. See witness marks. Can't pull flywheel, circlip won't hold the nut even with a double. |

And snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, the flywheel windows are so big you can loosen the coil, move it, and snug it back down. All better. Screw you flywheel circlip. đź–•

More stupidity today. The fancy washers I ordered from scooterworks are drilled for m6 but my flywheel takes m7

I have this other flywheel from Kajiit but I don't recognize what it is. It has no points window but has the old circlip style puller arrangement. Anyone ID it for me?

So on to thinking about that Allstate fork I'm going to rebuild. What is the deal, can I expect to use the VBB diagram and just have the damper not there? Is the rest the same? Or do I need some alternate parts diagram for it?

Just bump your thread if you aren't getting answers but make sure you ask specific questions and not too many at a time, or you lose your audience

Cool deal you made , I would refer to this as a multi basket case consortium. I think I'm about ready for another project.

It's literally the 8" shoes, the clips, and the drum nut to get it off the bench so I can move on to the px engine

At least these shoes can go on my PX engine. |

I *KNOW* I have one... anyway, you should as proud as a guy with a goat that's got nine peckers. that thing looks really really nice and I know it'll be a great bike with the "new" engine. |

Which way do these cover pieces go, long end in or out? Do we just snug them up or does the "extra" bend over? Or is the extra a wear bar so they squeal when down on lining??

I've always installed the long side out, and give them a little pinch with a dab of grease.

One last VBB question - this coil bracket appears riveted on, are they sold separately? This new coil I have sitting around doesn't seem to have one.

Clearing room for the bigger clutch. This protrusion at 8:30 or so, I don't see it in the pictures from the VBB engine. Will it need trimming in addition to the top part I've already done? It appears to be the place where autolube stuff would mount.

Dirty or rusty big pin?
I'd try cleaning it and see if it makes a difference. I'd probably not install it unless you have it silky smooth and loose… There has to be something binding With accelerated wear, the piston will swing about more than you'd want it to. |

Cleaning suggestions? I have brake clean, carb clean, electronics clean in cans. Gasoline bath? It's hard to get into the big end bearing. I remember it freed up some when I used the parts washer but that's not available until next week with my current Covid status.

Nylon brush and kerosene? Kerosene is one of my go to cleaners of parts. And PreSolve to finish it off.
Excellent stuff
