And defeated.

New coil fouling on flywheel. See witness marks. Can't pull flywheel, circlip won't hold the nut even with a double.

And snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, the flywheel windows are so big you can loosen the coil, move it, and snug it back down. All better. Screw you flywheel circlip. đź–•

Yeah it looks to be m8. What pisses me off is I'm pretty sure I have it somewhere.

Anyone know the junction block screw size?

I have this other flywheel from Kajiit but I don't recognize what it is. It has no points window but has the old circlip style puller arrangement. Anyone ID it for me?

So on to thinking about that Allstate fork I'm going to rebuild. What is the deal, can I expect to use the VBB diagram and just have the damper not there? Is the rest the same? Or do I need some alternate parts diagram for it?

The only new touch was the badging for the left cowl - special ordered from SIP because we didn't have any Arcobalenos here. The bike is doing just fine. I'm about to put together the proper PX125 engine for it and keep the Stella engine for me. Then I'm going to sell it on so I can make space for new projects. If anyone is shopping, feel free to hit me up.

Laughing emoticon so many times we've thought this during this thread

I just refuse to bring a new engine onto the bench without the last one finished. I want to clean up the leftover old parts, decide which to keep, etc. As evidenced by the shoe mishap, when they start intermingling parts, things get confusing! At least these shoes can go on my PX engine.

well, where's the fun in that?

half of the party is walking around the shop muttering to yourself: where in the fuck did I put that?!?? I *KNOW* I have one...

anyway, you should as proud as a guy with a goat that's got nine peckers. that thing looks really really nice and I know it'll be a great bike with the "new" engine.

I had something to add to this thread, but then I started thinking about nine-pecker'ed goats, how that might compare to a dog with three bollocks, and whether 3:1 was really the correct ratio of goat peckers to dog happiness, which reminded me of an old German drinking song (Mein Hund hat drei Hoden), which reminded me that it's now September, and Oktoberfest is in September, and Bier, and...well...I don't know.

I think it might have been something else about brakes, so nothing important.

Which way do these cover pieces go, long end in or out? Do we just snug them up or does the "extra" bend over? Or is the extra a wear bar so they squeal when down on lining??

I go with the long sides matching, so like on the right, same as QA. No grease, but I crimp the sides so that they're firmly in place.

Clearing room for the bigger clutch. This protrusion at 8:30 or so, I don't see it in the pictures from the VBB engine. Will it need trimming in addition to the top part I've already done? It appears to be the place where autolube stuff would mount.

Dirty or rusty big pin?

I'd try cleaning it and see if it makes a difference.

I'd probably not install it unless you have it silky smooth and loose…

There has to be something binding

With accelerated wear, the piston will swing about more than you'd want it to.

Cleaning suggestions? I have brake clean, carb clean, electronics clean in cans. Gasoline bath? It's hard to get into the big end bearing. I remember it freed up some when I used the parts washer but that's not available until next week with my current Covid status.
