You have it under control. Disconnect the front brake and speedo;, drop the fork; new mudguard on; re-install.
At least it's not a front disc. No bleeding required. Blood sacrifice optional.

Yeah it wasn't awful to drop the fork. The painting of a mudguard is more my sticking point but it can be done. I have one.

fools! blood sacrifice is NEVER optional!
in the grand scheme of things, a fork drop sans disc isn't the worst thing in the world. painting the fender is a low key PITA, but you can bang that out over the week in nightly increments and then just blow it all up on a Friday night while you listen to the game. leave the tat with the bike unless you have another P to put crash bars on. otherwise you'll be sentenced to a life of crash bar management. they fit no where easily, they're always underfoot or in the way, you'll lose pieces or scratch them up making them near worthless. samesies with pipes. it's like having more than one girlfriend. it's cool in theory and all, but the management sucks.

I asked a local friend his take, and he was more on the side of the 125 factor being a problem vs the fender, but I'm guessing that with some buyers it's the displacement, and with others its the fender. Probably either one opens up some more buyers to the bike.

Fender inner gets fast etch and owatrol oil. Owatrol isn't on yet. Fender for the VBB looks ok on the inner, I'm leaving it.

The vbb fender definitely has a bondo factor going on. It's off a nam bike. I don't really care that much though. I figure if it didn't flake off and rust yet, it's probably a decent substrate. The bike is going to be an even harder sell someday than this px was. It's not worth doing the frame up with a proper paint job, and it's a bit rough. I'm going rat-casual on that bike, even more relaxed than what I did on the PX. It's going to be obvious that it came from a pile of parts, which will likely make people think its SEA, even though the frame is not. Oh well, I can always send them to this thread later

I will probably rebuild the Allstate fork as it is complete and your forks there look bare. But Kajiit can be persuasive.

So I'm thinking to try painting one outside tomorrow. Could go south but then again if it does you just wet sand and try again. Dirt is the problem, but doing it outside at work saves so much grief at home.

the weather is perfect, mid 60's, no sun for now. it will sun up for the afternoon which will help cure it well. maybe tomorrow I will do the vbb fender.
the bug is where no one will see it, the fish eye is small, and the run probably will get an Andre the Giant sticker ![]() |

Quick tips:
Don't "paint" it. Spray three ugly-thin coats, waiting 5-10 min between. Final coat can go down a bit heavier, since the first three will act as a kind of glue, to avoid runs. Don't spray in the sun. Good luck! |

Good luck! i was super stoked to see the clouds today, despite us having had so much cloudy weather for the last 2 months. i knew I couldn't spray in direct sun no matter what. |

I'm thinking stock fender on, Malossi 166 or 150 px top end, I keep the crash bars, and price it at 2400-2500. Is that reasonable?
