Never mind, one is longer. They are chunky though. It won't just turn at the corner. What do you do about that?

The cowl took a ton of persuasion to mate up, had to make new shapes of the bottom floor. Should have done that pre paint!! It seems ok now.
Still wondering how the cowl rubber works, it's not going to turn those lower corner bends. |

This headset is freaking me out like the fork. I've got a pile of random pieces and no clue what's missing. Time to work those parts diagrams again. Anyone know if a good video showing it going together?

cowl rubber: a little cupcake cut on the inside and you can usually make the turn.
cut less than you think you'll need. easier to take more out than add more back in! |

the washer between the shift tube and the headset seems to be unobtanium - not on SIP or anybody in the USA either. not sure if you can get away with using another of the fiber washers that are thicker or perhaps cutting the tab off a wavy washer and using one of those (they are closer to the 0.5mm thickness at 1mm, the fiber are like 2.5mm thick).

I just went through a similer ordeal with a shift tube replacement. Following a factory diagram I first put the washer p/n: 60312 (.5mm thick) next to the gear numbers. Then inserted the shift tube in the head set, then the fiber washer p/n: 60566 then the tabbed spring washer p/n: 60535 then the actuating lever for the shift cables, flat washer, lock washer & bolt/screw. I do know that the fiber and tabbed washers go on the throttle side same order as well. As for what goes between the throttle grip and headset, not sure since mine has some sort of spring thing & washer incorporated. Hope that helps.
Good Luck. |

They shipped today, I see they were out of the speedo gasket and were probably holding off thinking they'd come in.

Are these fender mount holes supposed to be threaded? They may be covered in powder coat. I can't tell. They seem M7. I want this fork installed this weekend if possible.

I may go straight evil and use standard hardware just to make it happen. I despise that solution but I wanna make this a roller by Monday.

Not certain, but I don't think so. Every scooter I've worked on is a through bolt from the top and nut underneath....

I think it's M5 15mm (front) or M5 20mm (rear)
Smallies are M5 for sure... and I believe the large frames are samsies. |

How about the side fasteners? Also same size? I was being short sighted and not worrying about them. No trim on the fender.

My comments are based off what SIP said fit via their exploded views/diagrams. It's what I ordered from them and installed on the ET3. Seems to fit fine... but that said, I'd also trust Safis' knowledge more than SIP.

Tires mounted. NOKS. New old kajiit stock. The tires are brand new but aged. The tubes are from scooterwest, but alas one has a straight valve stem and will have to be replaced. Why would they ever sell that as appropriate? They are also NOKS.
Weird fasteners on the one rim are narrow and only 11mm head. The other is built with regular m8 nuts. ![]() ![]() Weird little nuts
