Looks really good from here, yours is the only other VBB besides mine I have seen in black.
Does it happen to be the MaxMeyer 9000M black?
I was thinking of getting a pre painted tank MaxMeyer 9000M from Bar Italia but not sure how close the color will be to my scoot. I have no idea what my color code is, the previous owner painted it.

The frame is gray. The mudguard, cowls, tank, headset are done in duplicolor engine gloss black with 1k clear on top. They are my low tech version of painting, which came out pretty good on my px. None of the paint is original!

Now has engine!

How do I know if I need a shock spacer? There isn't one in there right now. The angle of the slats on the flywheel cover? Can you tell from my pic or do I need one off the center stand?

I'm gathering up a Mercato order for missing bits. I didn't even think about this when I installed that.

That looks really good. Good call on touching up rather than doing more involved painting.

I'm kind of at the same point on the P200. Routing wires and cables through the headset, finding small hardware…it's time consuming.

Looks like you're on the home stretch.

I have clutch, front brake, and rear brake.

The front brake cable needed a few inches off the outer but it routes nice now.

I don't have gear trunnions, of all things. I stole one from the px spare stuff in the glove box. Add them to the order.

questions:
1) where do you find 3mm ring terminals for the junction box?
2) what size is the screw for the switch on the headset?
3) i assume the red for the stator off my points stator goes to both the coil and the kill switch connection, correct? I'm using that scooterworks 12v harness i linked up, but that's designed for the bajaj electronic ignition kit and I'm rolling 12v points.

Put the cowl on. You'll want the cowl slats to be level with the flywheel cover slats.

Took an hour of study to figure out the switch but it's all working. Did not check horn because it's a DC charger.

Still need to check the kill, but I need a longer screw for the switch to mount it properly.

Kafkaesque is circular or labyrinthine, pointless, and never ending

As opposed to Naked Lunch, which needs a term for doing too much heroin while sitting in front of a typewriter and somehow being thought brilliant afterwards.

I guess it's the difference between participation in the banality of western civilization that turns you into a cockroach…or a shitload of heroine.

Took too many courses in modern western civilization comparative post-modern meta whatever. I wish I had learned more math.

Longer screw now in, the cover is on the switch, and I've now proven the kill works too.

I'm still not sure how to tell if I've got my high beam / low beam right or reversed, but it switches and I can always flip the connections at the socket if I'm backwards.

Today's discovery - the horn has spade connections and the harness has bullets and seems too short. Probably calls for a mini adapter to be created.

kinda sad!

this is easier to understand. I think I have the right stuff to make the adapter - I know I have bullet connectors, but I will have to see if the spade connectors I have will fit on this horn. This is all low priority compared to making it run.

i'm pretty stoked that the harness side electrical is working. just got to wondering if my speedo has a bulb or whether this old of a bike doesn't. I have one extra red wire for a pilot lamp that could probably be used for a speedo bulb if it does. will have a look when i go home.

my biggest question mark at this point is still the stator. I put it together from a couple donors and had to get a new second lighting coil in order to make the 12V AC setup. I'm anxiously awaiting the results of that work. But to go there, I have to make it run, so that's up next! It's in the home stretch now. fuel tap and tank install are next, some junction box wiring and a wire to the coil, fill the oil. Clean up the headlamp unit's rusty chrome and install it. I still need a speedo gasket before I can toss that in but I'm waiting for the next uh-oh that forces a mercato order before I make an order for just a speedo gasket.

Headlamp on, needed some dremel work to line up the holes, found one stripped, will have to tap it to m5 to make it work.

Fuel tap in tank, tank fitted. Seat fitted.

Electrical wrap-up, terminating the power line from stator to m3 ring. Make a coil lead with a spade and m3 ring. M3 stuff from Amazon, seems to work fine.

Filled with 30w oil. Kick it over to move some oil, had to "adjust" the flywheel cover that was hitting the flywheel.

I am missing my fuel cap knob and screw!

Just need to fill and try to start. Really close now!

Some odds and ends like the horn remain. And getting it through DMV. Fitting cowls and cowl rubbers.
