It's kind of a bummer, looks like stock is low everywhere.

The SIP one is out of stock.

The Vape static for small cone is out of stock at Mercato.

The BGM looks to be pre-order on scooter-speed, which probably means he's going to order from scooter center - where it shows out of stock!!

Mercato has the malossi, but I never see anyone using that:

https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Electronic-Ignition-Kits/M-5518177_2

I have the crappy Bajaj 12v electronic setup in my attic stash, but everyone seems to just hate those.

Looks like vape static is in stock at SIP, so if nothing else, I can have it ordered.

This scoot is being a hard ass. Does this mean it was holding out for the Vape all along? Crafty little bugger. Can't believe that's the only ignition in stock, crazy.

I also have a Bajaj system in my stash. I'll give it to you for the nut out of an old exhaust. I had to steal one from a new Road 3.0 for a local customer with the Barone

Surprisingly, scooterwest had a static vape for small cone in stock and at the normal price. It's on the way.

It still strikes me as strange to put this on a 2 port motor in a semi scruffy frame while my px is totally fine with piaggio stuff that costs less. It is what it is I guess.

ok so what am I missing on this install of the vape - is the puller the same as a PX? do I need connectors? is the bracket and such included?

i'm going AC static. I assume I can use my PX 12v regulator, even though they may be providing me one.

Use a regular flywheel holder and a PX puller. The regular holder is arguably better since you're not having to one hand the torque wrench, too.

When I think back to the beginning and allocate a portion of the trade value of my small frame to the VBB itself, and when I remember this motor was literally thrust into my minivan against my wishes, I really think this box of fancy is costing me more than I "paid" for this scooter. ROFL emoticon

Hard to throw those boxes away

That video is vague at the timing part. Let me know when you're ready and I'll walk you through it.
Are you using a degree wheel, inclinometer, buzzwangle?

If you want to have a crack at it this weekend it can totally be done with a degree wheel.

Install the base plate with the screws loose enough to allow rotation later.
Mount the flywheel rotor. Don't mount the fan.
Mount degree wheel and piston stop.
Rotate the rotor counter-clockwise until it bumps. Zero the degree wheel.
Rotate clockwise until it bumps again. Divide that result by two and remove the piston stop. Continue clockwise to that value.
That's TDC.
Rotate counter clockwise to your advance (the buzzwange is so easy here because you can zero it at any point in rotation and it maintains degrees with any movement).
Do not rotate the rotor as in that video. Take a screwdriver and rotate the base plate so the timing marks as shown in that video line up at your advance.

You can strobe it if you want to verify, but those marks are VERY precise.

I forgot to mention I got the insurance squared away today too. The best thing about Hagerty is additional bikes cost basically nothing. It's $26 extra per year because I already have the PX with them. Stated value $3k policy. Awesome.

I just added the GS on to my policy with limited liability and it was $7 for 6 months.

Inaugural ride on main roads. It's good for about 45 on the flats. Max speed 52.6 does not earn plaid.

Would a 20.20 carb make a notable difference? A sip road 2?

I know a 2 port 177 is in the future but maybe I can spread out the improvements.

More air in will need to be balanced with more exhaust out.

My P200E was happy with a 20.20 and a SIP Road 2 on an otherwise stock mill. My only real concern is the well-being of your crankshaft, since going faster is going to equal more revs.

And you rode by an Original Pancake House without stopping? What the heck?

Congrats!

My personal advice would be just grab the Pinasco177 and the 20.20 cab and exhaust. It's a much more enjoyable ride, even with a not so tuned carb.
