I also had him get one of my Malossi 166 kits punched out to first over with his machinist. Rainy day cylinder just in case that Stella motor goes into a bike.

So after the crazy 8's ride I gotta say - bench seat all the way. Never again with the saddle seat.

I'm with Scott ... I've tried a bunch of 8" tires and the Heidi K-75 is by far the best. M-rated, super grippy, decent wear.
Plus, it's taller than other 8" tires, which means it effectively acts as an upgear. It could be your ticket to plaid.

Definitely superior to the S83's, though. Get these tubes: https://scooter-speed.com/inner-tube-3-50-8-sip/ |

Tearing down for the pinasco. My weird oil leak persists. It's at the cylinder base but there is no sign of oil on the base packer. My best guess is the case seam isn't flush? I looked at the possibility of a leak out through the case bolt. But when I pulled the bolt, the shaft was dry.
There's oil pooled at the base of the stator area as well. Not sure if it's just the upper leak landing here. There's no trail from the fly side seal, that looks clean. If it's not the upper lip, then maybe the little cup that holds the tree end? Holding while I think and await advice from the hiveā¦. Oil - damn
A little parting line is visible in the permatex but no oil traces
Bolt shows no leakage through this path.
More oil - double damn
Looks clean
I think I dragged some oil in here pulling the bolt

The good news is I can ditch the 1.5mm packer that may be causing issues. With just a regular gasket, squish is 2.3mm on the Pinasco. So at least I can eliminate one possibly problematic item.

I went ahead and installed the top end so I can try a pressure test tomorrow. It's the only way to know what's what. Base gasket sealed with moto seal. Fingers crossed.

The lower right bolt under the stator looks more gear oil covered than the others. Had those bolts leak oil before.

20 minutes at 10 psi, no drop.
As usual, more time spent chasing tester leaks than anything else. Rusted my fancy new cylinder with my soapy water. I will add RTV to that plug near the stator. |

Yeah, when the test equipment is the problem, it's so frustrating. That's been my life the past two days.
Once the only leak I was finding today was on my tester, though, I decided to just go for it. Based on how it's running, though, I think I'm in good shape. |
