Hello y'all, I've been lurking this forum for a time before and after buying my 2007 Piaggio MP3 250 last year and it's been a great help in notifying me of any potential issues I may have as a second hand owner. However, this one seems to be a little more...tricky. You see, the previous owner had disconnected the parking brake from the bracket in the back. He assured me that he only disconnected the cable and it should just "slip back" into position. But today I was getting the bike a safety, and the mechanic informed me that in order for it to pass a safety it needed that to be attached. We tried to look for the point that it would attach to but it seemed to be missing when compared to images online.

I'm asking for some help in finding this bracket, if anyone here has one extra or knows where to buy/get one made I'd really appreciate it.

I've attached an image from the internet with a highlight around the part I'm talking about.

I had to replace both my rear calipers. Let me check in the garage and see if I kept the old one for parts.

I hope this works out for you. The lever arm should transfer over just fine.

i guess the next question is why did the previous owner disconnect it in the first place? is there something going on with the caliper? Or is there a problem with the cable?

When I bought mine the parking brake cable was rusted stuck. I fought with it for several days trying to oil it and get it unstuck. Finally gave up and ordered a new one. It wasn't terribly expensive.

Yeah, that's the question. I mean I can't contact him anymore since he was selling to clean out his garage for a big move to another province, so his number is probably no longer the same. Hopefully my cable isn't rusted, but like you said its not terribly expensive to buy a new cable.
