Hi all,

I have a 2011 Vespa LXV-150ie that still has its original vacuum hoses installed. I am going to replace them but wanted to make sure that I am replacing the right hoses. Can anyone help me identify the hoses for me? I took a few pics of the engine. Thanks!

After doing a little more research I believe these are the vaccuum hoses. The arrowed hose at the top of the pic goes to the part with the red lid and has dry rot next to the connector (see second pic).

That's all part of the Evap system (evap crap). If you're having problems with engine performance (stalling etc) then the first thing to do is to cut the hose near the throttle body, and plug that input to the throttle body. Personally, I'd remove it as a hostage to future reliability.

You don't have any vacuum hoses as part of the primary fuel delivery system, unlike the previous carb'd models. They needed vacuum to operate the fuel tap and the fuel pump - but yours is fuel injected, so the usual warning for LX owners "Replace the fuel and vacuum hoses" isn't needed.

LOL. Thank you! I already uninstalled the evap (see first pic) but didn't plug the end (does that matter?). I did a valve adjustment, installed a new spark plug, and did the long idle after replacing the battery...and it is still stalling when it gets hot after idling being run a while (only in hot weather). Im guessing now its a gunked up fuel injector.

If you didn't plug the end into the throttle body then you are running lean. It's the opposite to the carb'd bikes, which should have the carb input open, preferably with a small filter.

So chop off the last 2" of the evap hose, plug that with some old bolt or whatever, and re-install that stub onto the throttle body.

Thanks again! You actually helped me on this site a few years ago with uninstalling the evap. I really appreciate it!
