I appreciate the suggestion and guide! Do you know if it is possible to also just dump the canister if it gets gas-logged without removing it?
Totally Possible, if you are careful you can remove and reinstall no problem, its a tight space on the bottom section so small hands help otherwise you have to remove the left fairing and probably the air filter cover to get under there.

You need to remove the 2 10-mm nuts and wiggle it out from under the left side, should be able to shake it to tell if there is gas inside, if so remove the hoses to dump and dry out.

There are two clamp bands on the fuel line hoses, one going in from the gas tank filler and one going out of the cannister to the intake manifold, cut the top of the clamp to pry off and remove (robot has a video on the HPE 6000 service that shows this for the hose clamp removal and #6 clamp install to do the valve adjustment "watch here for the Hose Clamp at time 49:50")

Next then pull the hoses off going in and going out of the cannister > Noted: They are really on there tight so wiggle back and forth, push with a flathead to get off without bending so you don't break the plastic housing tube on the cannister that the hose goes on < once you have it off, dump out and let air dry.

Then reinstall, put the #6 clamp over the fuel line hose and I would put a little lube on the plastic housing tube so the hose slides on better, will be tight, wiggle back and forth, once on clamp hoses and then reinstall in the holes on the left side with the nuts.

I pulled the codes and Vespa Portland confirmed that the code being thrown could very easily be the canister, so all roads lead to Rome as it were. Paranoia of harm coming to my perfect green child still has me installing the PMP this afternoon for quick diag. Honestly, being able to monitor temp on the hot mountains that I find myself on in summer is probably worth it.

Interesting, well good luck, I bet its frustrating for sure.

The 20/21 HPE Evap has been nothing but problems for us in our group, so they end up just removing the cannister and tossing it, problem solved
