Modern Vespa

Pulled the trigger and ordered a Corbin Seat in Black Carbon-Fiber Leather for a 2021 Vespa GTS HPE. Had them raise the nose up and raise the rear passenger area (for a mini backrest). Removing the old seat and installing the new seat was pretty easy at first, but was not exactly an OEM fit since the back of the seat hit my rear crash bars and won't lock so had to add some washers that were laying around in the garage to lower the u hook underneath, but overall really happy with the feel and comfort so far.

It looks very nice. I have read that Corbin seats are exceptionally hard. Do you find that to be the case?

I found that the stock seat for the HPE was harder and really uncomfortable - the Corbin is firm for sure and needs 1,000 miles to break in, but a lot more comfortable I think.

anybody familiar with the rivets they use? soo much cleaner than staples.

doesnt look like standard rivets where you have to drill hole first. and it doesnt make sense to me either because standard rivet would leave a fairly tall protrusion on the other side of plastic that would potentially poke the cover. so this must be some new type special upholstery specific rivet

Not sure on the type of rivet, but those puppies are firmly in there and not going anywhere

I do like my Corbin seat - looks and comfort; no downside...
