Is it just me or is MV a busier, livelier place since Jess made all these tweeks, new awards and, well.. generally appeared again?

I've also noticed the amount of new members since the pandemic and they appear to be posting.

It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. Absolutely kudos to Jess and it does seem a bit livelier around here.

That’s partially a seasonal thing. June-July-August have always been the peak of posts at MV, coinciding with peak riding season in the Northern Hemisphere. That said, new posts (which are probably the best gauge of activity) are up from 2020. But then again, it was 2020.

If we pull back a little farther, we can see that we’re about on par, maybe even a little less, compared to previous years. Also, in October 2019 there was some kind of outlier event, but I don’t know what it was. If you know what caused all the posts right about then, let me know.

One thing that is way, way up is ratings. This is almost certainly because of the addition of notifications.

I think it may also be because you removed the limits / restrictions? Now that its basically unlimited, I find I've been using it more as a "like" button and hitting it more often.

The restrictions were primarily around rating the same person. It was always the case that you could rate many people without restriction.

Agreed. It's also fun to see feedback for myself and who's giving it.

I think it's because you've been around more, Jess. Your upgrading, and asking for input has maybe woken some members from their slumber.

I joined during your extended absence and it's been nice getting to "know" you rather than just read about you. I think you're a cool cat.

Well, I came back to get away from all the BS on most other Social Media. I knew this site weeds out bad actors so it's a nicer place to be!
