Are there any other chrome headlight trim ring options for "P"s other than this:

https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Headlight-Rims/7394-N_3

I particularly like the look of the old '70s Sprint Veloce ring; the plain look of the US P/PX seems a little bare/unfinished, if you will. But I am not crazy about the accessory trim ring above, either.

I know that the 2-piece headset makes it hard to design a completely round ring, but are there any other rings out there from other automotive applications that can be modified/adapted to fit and make that headset look more classy?

not really, have you checked SIP etc?

but the two piece and the size makes it kind of a one off situation.

SIP has the usual one for sale; I would like one just like on the Euro model below, that I could get chromed.

That p200 went for $1k. Deal of the month.

BTW, if that ring is the same from the first P series someone has one laying around but prob rusty. I think I may have a rusty one from a 80 p200. I'll check.

Thanks; if you have one, please post pictures. I am curious on just how it is attached to the upper headset half.

Thank you again;
that one is part of the sealed beam bulb retainer for US spec P's.
I no longer have it on my 1985 USA PX150E, because I changed the headlight to Euro type, which does not have that type of mounting bracket, but only the little side "ears" that secure it to the lower headset.
The ring I was referring to mounts on outside of the headset as a decorative trim. If you look at that old 200E e-bay ad you can see it.

Well, after searching far and wide, I found a chrome ring that fits; with some modifications, of course.
The ring I chose is this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/164935161102?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

This ring is actually meant for '70s HD sportsters with 5 3/4" bottom mount headlights.

I have the Euro P series light, not the US sealed beam , but I am sure that it would work with that support as well.
I drilled out the new ring bottom angle mount and discarded it, and the 2 side headlight support rivets; I made my own longer bottom support that would mount to the lower support adjuster.
For the side mounts, I built 2 small extension braces, 1"L X 3/8"W with holes spaced 3/4" apart. All the braces are secured with small screws and nuts. The headlight is cushioned inside the ring by a foam strip to protect it from vibrations.
I think Piaggio skimped with the headset design on the Ps, and should have designed some sort of trim ring to make the P series look a little more classy as the '60 and '70s. This ring resembles the one on VBBs.
I am very happy with the end result.
