I've always found 10" rear hubs to be hit or miss. The quality is often questionable, even the Piaggio OEM ones, and where I've encountered damaged threads, getting the studs replaced is unpredictable and sometimes impossible. We've also discussed the length of threads when using alloy/tubeless rims from SIP or BGM.

I just took delivery of a relatively new offering from Scootopia in the UK. These hubs are for 30mm external seals, but will also suit an internal seal later PX. They are strengthened around the five stud locations and on the inside 'core'. They also have replaceable studs which are long enough for the fancy rims, washers and nuts

I'm not promoting these and do not know how good and effective they are in reality, but let's see!! Not sure where they are manufactured (I suspect somewhere east of here), but my first impressions re: quality are very good.

Looks like a legit tidy hub for sure.

Interesting that you can remove the stud bolts?! that would make getting my rear wheel off much easier. With the wide tyre conversion…

I can't read the "made in xxx" in the picture. Does your hub have it?

That picture is of an FA Italia hub for comparison. My hubs do not have a 'made in xxx' stamp, just a 'Scootopia' engraving on the inside.

Scootopia is known for it's Lambretta products, so that makes sense. They don't sell many Vespa items, but I guess they saw a gap in the market for decent replacement and improved hubs

lambretta jokes aside (having owned my TV for 30 years now) I like the look of that hub and looking forward to how it works out. May have to build a largeframe...

If they are anything like the quality of their S2 lambretta hubs, these will be great. I have used their lambretta hubs for a long time and they are by far the best out there in terms of price and quality.
