Hi all, I am working on finishing up the install of a new wiring loom on the p frame that I am rebuilding into a working scooter. Fun times!

I am having trouble figuring out where the location of the "common ground" is. I have a couple of black wires in the back (under the tank) with ring terminals that are clearly ground wires--but where do I attach them? They seem too short to run back to the junction block at the front, so it must be somewhere under the tank?

And at the junction box--there's a double-black wire from that main loom that is supposed to attach to a single black wire that runs to ground--but I don't have the single black wire. I can make one, but then where is it supposed to mount? Glovebox screw? Or does that run back under the tank to the other ground wires?

Attached is the diagram I am using to try to make sense of it all.

The chassis is used as common ground. The symbol for ground to chassis is circled below.
BTW wish I'd had a wiring diagram like that one.

OK, this is helpful, I will just attach the negative wires somewhere to the chassis. Lucky me, my painter decided to spray truck bed lining all over the interior of the scooter, so I'll have to chip a bunch off to get metal.

I don’t recall any ground wires attached inside the frame. I know the critical ones are the eye termin at the regulator screw behind the battery and, the two female spades connected to the underside of the Speedo.

Surely these must be the 2 ground wires that attached to the cowl hooks.

Brilliant, thank you! Picture worth a thousand words....

I hadn't installed the cowl latches yet (waiting for the plastic bushings to come) and so it wasn't as obvious to me as it probably should have been.
