Another wiring question--where do the rear turn signal wires that are underneath the gas tank (with female spade connectors) attach to? I get that they need to run juice into the cowl, but don't feel any tabs or anything.

The power comes through this little socket shown in this thread: p200 cowl latch and power socket - how do you remove 'em?!?

Basically, there's a wire held by tabs to the contour of the cowl, that runs from the light forward to the front. There, it ends with a little copper tip that sticks out of the cylindrical tube by the latch. That tube inserts into the plastic socket on the frame that you see in this image

I can take pictures of my own later if that doesn't make sense/you need more

Thanks Xantu; I've got that plastic bushing on order from Scooterwest. My issue is that I'm not sure what to do with the turn signal wire from the loom end -- how does *that* end up in contact with the cowl post that sticks through the plastic bushing into the body?

the plastic bushing has a wire and a terminal inside it (with a pigtail) that connect the loom to the post

No problem! I'm not sure I completely understand the question - basically, the wiring on the loom end terminates at that plastic socket/plug...

The wire on the cowl side that I alluded to has a metal tip...

... that is simply pressed against the socket's contact when the cowl is in place and the metal tube shoves it into the plastic socket on the frame
