My wife bought her Vespa GTS touring last August. She fell in love with it after years of riding all types of motorcycles. I've ridden it occasionally, more often recently as she healed from foot surgery. I enjoyed it so much, I started searching for one for myself. I finally found one and brought it home yesterday.

What seemed like a deal that was too good to be true popped up on Facebook marketplace. A
2020 GTS 300 supertech with 550 miles for $5500.

I called and talked to the owner, who turned out to be the Piaggio rep for the north east US. It was his own personal Vespa that he was selling. I immediately agreed to buy it, and we made arrangements to meet at a local Vespa dealer to transfer the title. When I picked up the bike, I asked if the first service had been completed yet. He said he had thought about that, and would knock an additional $250 off the price to pay for the service. So for $5250 I am the proud owner of my own Vespa and don't have to borrow my wife's scooter to ride.

I ended up loading up an essentially new GRAY GTS in my van, and brought it home. We put my wife's GTS in the van as well, and are now comfortably sitting at our campsite enjoying the view.

Wow! Great find - congrats!

We had a gray kinda day yesterday while out riding... then the sky opened up and poured on us. I think your gray was better.

I like the aircraft-style trailer, beautiful. Is it aluminum colored or is it solid aluminum?

It is an Airstream, which is made out of sheets of aluminum.

Just to add to Dan's reply, the Airstream trailers have been built for many decades like that -- it's an iconic, timeless design, much like the Vespa.

I was wondering why in Italy I have never seen one, is it a product made only for the USA? From the answers it seems that they are no longer built.

What iconic car would you see next to that mobile architectural gem? Something that you can also combine with the Vespa, a sort of trait d'union ...

They are most definitely still in production. As Jess said, quite an iconic brand. The company promotes them as light weight and aerodynamic.

In my mind, to keep the international flair, a vintage Porsche 911, or a Jaguar XKE. Unfortunately, I own neither.

This is the tow vehicle the Vespas go inside when we are traveling. It is a Chevy Express van with a 4x4 conversion from a local company called Quigley.

Maybe because these Airstreams are a little bit too big for secondary Italian roads?

I see.

It seems though they were imported and sold in Europe. This is a German site offering second hand Airstreams: https://www.mobile.de/nl/camper/airstream/vhc:motorhome,mke:194
Prices are really high.
