Had a bit of an issue with my throttle cable which could probably have easily been resolved so thought I'd let people know.

For a little while the throttle on my GTS300 has been a little bit sloppy - not significantly so I was waiting for gap in my itinerary to check it. However, yesterday I had luckily just go near home when the throttle got worse and needed pretty much fully opening to keep going. On investigation the nut on the end of the adjuster has come off the end of the throttle cable. Unfortunately it has also stripped the thread meaning I now need to replace the whole cable. This is a pain in the butt job involving removal of a load of body panels.

The moral of the story is if you feel your throttle is getting a bit loose make sure to check it pretty quick because a 5 minute job retightening my adjuster nut could have saved me several hours labour and the cost of a new cable

I had the same thing happen on my recent purchase. Fortunately nothing was damaged so I just had to reset the adjuster screws. It's when I discovered I could just pull the seat bucket to get at the carburetor as opposed to the extensive panel removal I had to do on my last crate scooter.
