I may be wrong, but I don't think aesthetic is ever been a German manufacturer virtue...

Strength, bulky, functional and expensive.. maybe

It's fat in the front like the 80s Elite, but I'd ride it.

So, it's not *quite* a BMW design. From the article:

Jumping off of the eye-catching styling of the CE-04, which was first unveiled as the Concept Link prototype back in 2017, Vietnamese design studio Carota Design has envisioned an even more futuristic scooter which incorporates what I like to call a future-retro design language.

That's a mouthful there.

I gotta say, I'd wait for it to finish transforming before judging the style.

And Syd, I'll keep my goofy Lego kit, er, Elite 80.

I think it is ugly, but I like the way the center stand folds up over the rear wheel, leaving plenty of clearance for cornering.

I'm not sure... I had several BMW in my life.. R75, GS80, K75, K100 GSA1200, and I always enjoyed riding them, definitely not looking at them...

PS. I have no idea what a future-retro is or mean...

I think there are a number nice design elements to the concept scooter. I love most of the bike from the center of the scooter back, not so much from the center of the scooter forward.

I think my 2001 BMW R1100RT is absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes I just sit back in awe and admire its design lines. One day, I was admiring the design after a ride and just saw it all come together. My first thought was brilliant. And just like all your BMWs, it also rides fantastic too!

... and I had a grey Fiat Barchetta spyder but don't ask me how I managed to get into it.
The gentleman next to my car (which I sold years ago) was my father.

The BMW concept in the link is only a concept, they serve as inspiration for any future series production and do not necessarily and fully reflect what will be the final aesthetic.

Not bad, but not my cuppa espresso.

By the time the get DIN/ Euro/ DOT lights and reflectors on it and big honkin ugly mirrors it'll be ruined.

And it will also be BMW overpriced so...

Nope.

I always loved the mid seventies Opel stuff. I figure they must have borrowed a French designer for these cars... they just don't look German.

In all honesty I actually think they just modified a bit the Holden Torana available here in Australia at the same time... but I'm just speculating...

They are collector items as well these days...

That could also be where the design came from. There's just too many curves for a German design... ja?

It's dated by today's standards but I remember when the R90S came out. It was a show stopper back then and not a bad looking ride today either.

Recommended recipe for Piaggio's best selling e-scoot:

Electric motor equivalent to a 150cc Vespa
200 mile (300km) range at highway cruising speed.
946 body style.

Piaggio put the Hybrid MP3 on sale in 2009 but had little success, it cost and weighed too much.
Sometimes daring too much doesn't pay. :?
