I ordered a few parts for my 2017 Aprilia SR 125 and the supplier got back to me saying some parts wouldn't fit as they are for an M04 engine. All I know is my scoot has an air cooled leader 125 in it. Tried searching the net and didn't come up with much except the leader had a name change to M04 after a certain year (I think 2010). Can anyone enlighten me as to the different 125 leader engines?

They changed the crankcase in the mid 2000s, but I'm not sure if they changed it again when they started making he bikes in China. I think the Chinese ones claim 1200cc oil capacity. I'm not sure if they changed it or just decided it could hold more oil. They might be using the same crankcase they used for the gts125 in the eu.

What do they say doesn't fit?

I ordered a variator locker. I assumed they're the same for all leader 125 motors but apparently not. Interesting about the oil. I put in a litre according to the specs I found for my model but it's low on the dipstick.

Do you mean the tool to hold the variator?

Yep. The belt looks almost new but I want to take the variator off to give the pulleys a clean and check the state of the rollers.
