Didn't even notice until I got home. No idea who or what did it… lame. :-/

Damn, that sucks.

I'm a little surprised they got you that hard without knocking it over. Still a bummer. I got a serious dent in my VBB cowl in a parking lot, too. Seriously pissed me off.

And I still grind my teeth remembering the guy who backed into my Sprint hard enough to knock it over right as I was walking up (he was on his phone, literally said, "I gotta call you back" as I walked up), then wanted to insist it was really my fault for riding something so hard to see. He broke one of my unobtainium turn signals and refused to believe they were not available. I feel like I deserve some sort of award for keeping my cool in that exchange.

Oof. His wife would be real mad and probably burn it and the house down.

I mean, just a guess…

Amazing that this doofus tried to blame your invisible bike for the collision, even though he was reversing while *talking on the phone*. I'm not sure I would've kept my cool in the same situation.

Do you recall a bright flash and a boom on your ride home?
My BIL, Major Tom, gets hit frequently by meteors.
It just adds to his patina, too.

And he'd parked after me (it was street/parallel parking) so he either just got lucky backing in or was truly just as much of an asshat as he came off as in my interaction. I'm going with Option 2.

In my younger days, I'd probably have created some employment for local body shops, if not local dentists, just because of his attitude. But I've mellowed in my middle age and come to realize that life is too short to get bent out of shape over things that you can't change.

I managed to pick up the pieces of the turn signal, super-glued them back together, and re-installed it on the bike. Eventually, I replaced it with one of the ones that I made by resin casting, a project I still want to return to at some point because I'd finally figured out how to get a perfect copy, I just never got a pressure pot to do it with.

If my wife/angry girlfriend was involved there'd be police and life insurance claims …and the smoldering ashes of all my scooters.

Went to work this morning and got most of it sorted. New piece of trim. Banged out all the dents that I could.

Onwards…
Mended… mostly.

the door is tough because there is a bracket there for the hinge. looks good none-the-less.

i found an original aluminum door for my 1952 Allstate. I will have to remove the hinge, it's not spot welded on but solid rivets as the the hinge itself is steel. Work the door back into shape, then rivet the hinge back on using solid rivets.

Indeed the dent over the steel hinge is the one I had trouble with. That one will need more work at some point.

Thats one of my reason for me not getting a GTS auto. Dents on them cost a fortune to put right.

Wow, great repair job! I'm impressed.

I've pressed many dents out of my Vespa over the years, but it never looks quite right afterward. Scooters here in the big city tend to get banged up badly when parked on the street. Hopefully this one (not mine) will make you feel better about yours.

Assholes are everywhere. This one thought it was ok to move these scooters onto the sidewalk so he could park his car. I would have flipped my shit if that was my scooter. These dudes showed incredible self-restraint by "only" trashing his car with some food.

I'd bring it to the next level. Instead of throwing food on that guy's car, I'd eat the food first, then purposely vomit it back up on the car.

my neighbor (known druggie) moved my bike.

I was parked at the absolute end of a red at the alley.

the only reason I knew is that I happened to be awake and heard his loud AF car with no muffler.

I mean, yeah, at least he didn't knock it over. but still. to grab my things and stuff and move it up onto the sidewalk? not cool.

so, he got four flat tires. I left the valve cores on his windshield nestled into his wipers.

next time he gets slashed stems. after that, we go to the tire.

That's it, I'm putting a valve core tool under my seat.

Nice. But I use RideOn, and they put a little one with every bottle. I have, well, I have plenty.
