Modern Vespa

Hi all! I've been reading some threads and finally decided to introduce myself. I'm a recent Georgia transplant to Orange Co., CA. I'm going to have a work commute that's less than a mile and thought a scooter would be an awesome commuter for me.
I took the plunge this past weekend and bought a 2021 Primavera 150. As much as I loved that light green, I couldn't resist the uniqueness of the Sean Worthspoon.. so that's what I got!
I have to take a motorcycle safety class and get my motorcycle enforcement. Which was a surprise, I wouldn't have needed that in GA. But I'm good with it. I'd rather be as safe as possible.

I look forward to learning from all the veterans of this group!

You know, short trips are a bit hard on the engine. I'd suggest trying to map out maybe an 8 mile commute instead. You'll love it.

Thank you! I don't actually get it until Sept 10.. buying a house and moving.. it'll be safe at Vespa Motorsport until then.

I also have a short commute.

In three different houses and two offices, my commute has been from 0.8 to 1.3 miles over the past 21 years.

The scooters don't mind, but they do like to get out and stretch their legs as often as possible.

So plan some touring when you can.

And yes, a 150cc Vespa can tour.

Lostboater and many others have ridden them across the country.

Welcome to MV! The course will probably be well worth your time. As for the short commute you might find that you will find new routes especially on the ride home! More than once we have had to stop for gas on our way to dinner at a resturant five mile from home even when starting out with a full tank!

My ride to work is 2.5 miles door to door. Until last week I had four scooters.

Your 150 will soon see lots more miles than point A-B, believe me. When I bought my first I set up a spreadsheet to track mileage, etc ... but after a month I really didn't care. I was having too much fun.

Oh, and I left a little early this morning. My 2.5 mile commute was more like 15.

There is a dealer closer to us in OC. I found them after I made the appt with TC. We decided to make a day of it and enjoy the drive to San Diego. 100% worth the trip. My husband is taking his motorcycle safety class in November (they are hard to find before then) and I can almost guarantee we'll be making another trip!

The hubby was looking at a Nui, but at 6'3 he really needs the bigger body of the Vespa.
