Oh heeeey Modern Vespa people!

Are you tired of not riding your scooter? Are you tired of sensible diets? Are you ready for an endurance challenge that combines riding your scooter with visiting donut shops?

Following the trailblazing 2020 example from South Bay Scooter Posse in San Jose, CA, you have from now through September 12 to ride your scooter to twelve donut shops. Purchase a donut at each shop and take a photo that shows you and your scooter with the exterior of the donut shop and the purchased donut.

This can be done anywhere you are. But I'll be honest: I'm especially hoping for participation in Texas.

The event is designed to be COVID and Delta variant safe, so please practice all of the masky-distancy cootie free stuff we are all supposed to do.* We don't care if you actually eat the donut (but you know you want to) just as long as you purchase it and support your local small businesses while riding your scooter.

You can visit one donut shop a day for twelve days or you can be a hero and do a dazzling dozen all in one day!

Post your 12 photos in this "Modern Vespa" discussion thread and you'll get a "Donut Go Out There ATX" logo sticker. Participants who complete all 12 in one day or a "Baker's Dozen" will earn an extra sticker!

Ride Scooter! Eat Donuts! Have Fun!
____
* Fully-vaxxed and want to gather and ride with other scooterists in your area? DO IT! Also, I'm planning 2 donut rides in Austin:
- Sunday Sept 5, 10am ride from Gourdough's Big Fat Donut truck (1503 South 1st St @Monroe), quick stop at Donut Taco Palace II (1807 W. Slaughter @Menchaca), continuing to Wimberley Donuts (201 FM 2325), returning to Austin and ending at Radio Coffee & Beer (4204 Menchaca Road).
- Sunday Sept 12: Ride to Austin-area Donut Shops
- Sunday Sept 12, 2-4pm: Pick up your sticker(s) at Gourdough's Public House in Austin.

kriag,

I missed the Vespa because you would always be on he BV350.

I looked up all the shops you visited for their addresses. I am going to hit
Yo Yo Donuts this week end.

I think it might be a cool ride idea. Start out early, get only one donut/coffee at
each stop. Kick off at Denny's 5th Ave Bakery (7am), move on to Mel O Glaze Bakey,
then A Baker's Wife Pastry Shop. Maybe end up at Yo Yo Donuts. Shakopee and Eagan
may be to far out.

I would ride my Vespa. Pick out a week day (I would take off work). Maybe ask
Jon on his yellow Vespa - make it a Vespa Donut Run. Let me know.

Four donut stops is more than enough for one ride.

Sir! These photos are fantastic! I sent you a private message…

When I finally scoot around the twin cities for Amerivespa (in 2022?), I hope to visit a Baker's Wife Pastry Shop and her cow!
