I've had to replace the hinge on my ET4 seat. I also want to make a new seat cover. How do you remove the seat lock retaining ring? It doesn't want to pop out.

I pressed mine out until it met resistance, and found a plastic tab hiding near the seat pan. I nudged it up with a tool while pressing the sleeve free. A bit of wd40 helps.

PS,
While restapling, my cheap Arrow stapler worked well IF the seat pan was well-supported and the stapler held firmly against the pan. Otherwise staples don't go fully home,.

I'm not so lucky. With my other saddles I had better luck with a self tapping machine screw with a built in washer. I may go that route. Thanks for your advice.
