2012 Vespa LX150 with ~6k miles. Simply won't start from time to time. Other times, it starts up perfectly fine without any issues, but every once and a while it just won't. Both before and after use.

When I put the key into start, everything lights up on the dashboard/headlights, but then the Code light blinks red and stays solid, and nothing at all happens when attempting to start.

The only other thing I've noticed is that when it does start, a small electric motor noise comes from the dashboard. When the bike does NOT start up, this noise doesn't happen at all.

I've taken this issue to multiple mechanics over multiple years. We've re-programmed the keys, replaced the battery, replaced the starter, and had multiple tune-ups, all to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem? My current mechanic doesn't even know where to begin, as (of course) we can't cause it to fail now. Facepalm emoticon
