I had a 1969 Chrysler Newport. Talk about junk in the trunk…To this day I miss that car… I could ride around all day long in that car, sunglasses on, listening to Mancini's "Peter Gunn" and just know I was the coolest cat on the street.
I also had a land yacht - a 1972 Sedan deVille. Summer break from college, 1980, I saw the car in the barn where I was rooming. It was being used as a dumpster. Full to the gunwales with newspaper, coffee grounds, cigarette butts, egg shells. Asked the asked the landlady, "What's up with that car?" She said it ran when parked but they could never get it started again and that I could have it if I could make it go.

Looked it over and all that was wrong was someone had stolen the starter and the radio. My girlfriend (now Mrs. CLE) and I spent a weekend filling trashbags and cleaning upholstery. Using a week's salary I bought a rebuilt starter and if fired right up. We parked the Beetle because we had a Caddy!

Like the Newports described before, it sat four across. The trunk would sleep six comfortably. It floated more than drove. In a world of 55MPH freeways, it just wanted to cruise at 75MPH. We didn't listen to Peter Gunn - in fact we didn't listen to anything. Even a junkyard WonderBar was too expensive for my budget. So we sang (mostly Beatles).

Then reality sunk in. It had the small engine that Caddy offered that year - a 472. 12 miles per gallon in the city, 8 highway. My gas bill was more than my rent and I certainly was not saving anything for next year's tuition.

At the end of summer, I signed the title back over to the landlady and took the trusty beetle back to school.

Yeah, I wish it was in my stable now…

Chris from CLE

Well put... I've found that Frau Fritz will forgive much if I show up at the side of the bed with a hot tea just after her alarm goes off. Luckily I'm up well before her.

That said, when I showed up with the new MP3 500 Touring, unannounced, it took many pots of tea over many days to cool the fires.

The time she came home to find her oven full of Belstaff bike jacket being rewaxed didn't go over too well either, who would have thought it would smell that bad or linger for so long?

The Honda 90 Trail by he fireplace was forgiven quickly enough, as was the Jawa 350 in the family room. The house full of Enfield exhaust didn't go over so well...

Should I be learning something from all of this... beside that fact that I married a saint.

I'm now learning to choose my words a little more carefully, especially the important ones. but I'll still drop a fuck you too on any person.
Lol

I wasn't referring to you. Trust me gender-neutral language is difficult for all of us.

another nice backside. when I first put this together my wife said it looked like a wasp.

I told her to be careful where she said that...

now, if only it was as quick as my GTS.

Potentially NSFW, but I second the new forum idea, however much a fat chance for its creation might be.

25 years later and she still gets me every single time I walk by.
I'm with you on this one. But seriously, your 'cuda's behind was rather svelte compared to, say, a Gran Fury of the same vintage.

but I totally stepped in it with the dr. mrs. the greasy the other day. she was less than thrilled with the jeans she had bought-- and said as much!
and me being a dumbass chirped up, that yeah, they were less than flattering.

a night on the couch has done my neck a great disservice.

I am an idiot.
After several relationships, my response to this: lie, tactfully. (But only in response to questions like this.)

Facepalm emoticon My opinion on objectification is what you'd guess for a woman of my age and parental status.
I wholeheartedly approve this post, GG.

it's all about the coke bottle hips and that tight rear end (3.55 sure grip, custom sway bar and uprated springs), but like any great partner it's about what's inside that matters most.

laughing whole heartedly. thankfully I have a shop to carry out my shenanigans, but the dr. mrs. the greasy is less than thrilled about the amount of scooter parts being shipped in, and out and the detritus of both. the tiny meows absolutely love it, all the boxes and shipping materials.

but something shows up and she's all: woo been waiting for this! *sad trombone* it's just more of your scooter/car junk!

but as long as I keep her fed, the kitchen clean and handle the chores she's good.
also, she's got one scooter that runs. one that's a 1:1 model in pieces and one that needs a full rebuild. so winter will be full of fun projects!

Hi man..just bought this stand but something is going wrong..the part that goes on the mirror bar i think must be wrong from the factory..it's bottom isn't flat so the little plastic cap (i think the 55 size is for gts) to fit well in it…thats the way it suppose to be or to go to the shop for replacement??
here some photos of what i mean above
