Hello!

I have a 2018 GTS 300 that started having some issues after a long ride this weekend. When I start the scooter (no problems there) it idles okay for a few seconds and then starts stuttering/clunking, and eventually stalls. I can smell gasoline out of the exhaust when this happens, so I'm assuming I'm missing some combustion. When I give the scooter some revs, it seems to run okay.

The spark plug and air filter are both new (have been ridden for ~100 miles). My dealer doesn't think it's the battery, which I don't think has been replaced since new, but I'm assuming this is an electrical issue. Does that sound right? I'm wondering how common it is to need an ECU remap to fix the throttle- my dealer has taken some liberties before and I'd like to be as informed as possible. Or, does this just sound like a battery going bad?

Thanks in advance for your help!

A quick thing you can try - try resetting the ECU, disconnect the battery, wait 10-15 mins and reconnect the battery- this should reset the ECU.... see if that improves anything...

Thanks Graham- though the scooter doesn't seem to be stalling now, the idle is still pretty rough and I still hear a "knocking"/clunking sound and smell fuel from the exhaust.

For posterity- the dealer reset the ECU parameters. Apparently those will persist even after a disconnected battery, and I don't think there's another way to do this without the scanner tool the dealer used.

So far: smooth idle, no stalls, and notably smoother throttle.
