The reason I am Vespa shopping is my left hip gets done Monday the 22nd. I don't know if I will be able to ride my sport MC (Duc and MG). (certainly not for a while)...Vespa looks a lot more user friendly.

We are all pulling and praying for you! After all, you are our favorite Italian!!!

I'm so glad the surgery is over. Now comes the hard part. Walking!

Take it from someone who knows…Take the pain meds as long as you absolutely need them and do PT as soon as your doctor allows you to, and you'll be better in no time. Six weeks out from a complete shoulder replacement and I was already riding again. Feel better!

Great news that the job is done. Now; take the drugs, listen to the health professionals and do as you're told. Then walking and scootering in no time.

Ice, and elevation ("toes above nose") and yeah, it really hurts.

Pump the ankle and above all, do not fall. all my best.

The physical therapy afterwards is very important. Keep up with that.

Can't speak for the PT after hip replacement but while doing my PT for rotator cuff repair got to see more than my share of those recovering from knee replacements. Sure did not look or sound fun!

Made me feel a little guilty being there for PT. Especially the part where the therapist takes your arm and does the stretching exercises twisting my arm around to check range of motion. I think I screwed that up as the young lady doing it stopped that after a few sessions saying I was already at the point they shoot for at the end of PT not the first few weeks. Or maybe she thought I was enjoying it too much!

The easy bit is now over! To be fair the recovery will be much faster that you're now thinking. In a couple of weeks you'll feel much better. It's hard slog but well worth it in the end.
