The other piece of what @CaptnJim wrote is also very important. All the PT and walking really should continue for the rest of your life, maybe at a less intense level, but still ... . The old line, "If you don't use it you lose it," is still true. Doesn't matter how old you are already.

The main problem is my evacuation problems, we are trying the Mavicol but I am afraid because of my pancreatic pathology.
I'm halfway through therapy, hopefully I'm going home on December 23 ... Crossing my fingers... Otherwise I'll have a bad Christmas away from home... |

Today I started using crutches ... I have 20 days to go to be able to have a level of rehabilitation such that I can be discharged before Christmas. I'll make it?

Hospital food or your mum's panettone should be a great incentive to be home by Christmas.

Getting back home is a great incentive. Keep doing the work. Since you mention crutches, are you able to put weight on the leg with the new hip? I went from the walker to a cane, not having to use crutches in between, but my leg was weight bearing right after the surgery.
Keep your sights on the goal (getting home). |

I'd suggest not forgetting to maintain or continue on your weight loss journey. You've worked hard to become healthier and your PT is the perfect reason to keep it up.
I know this from experience as I lost almost 100 pounds, ten years ago. Until COVID, I'd managed to keep it off. I'm slowly working on losing the 25 I've gained back.

Update: Duodenal inflammation has been overcome. I continue the rehabilitation therapy.
PS: Fiat chassis ambulances are terrible! They vibrate and are noisy like an old buggy. |

News ...
Tuesday, December 14th I will resign from the rehabilitation clinic because of my stomach problems; the doctors think they are due to the type of hospital alimentation (food).

There is no place like home - especially home cooking in Italy. Heal soon and stay at the physical therapy.

My God what an ordeal! Please get well. Be as positive as possible. I had hip replacement nov 22, was walking with walker that afternoon, home the next morning. I was released from home care yesterday. I can't imagine the hell you have been through! I have been so lucky. Again, be as strong as you can. Please get well.

From today I'm home!
Why will you ask yourselves? The cause is that I had to have my duodenitis treated by a specialist doctor, but I continue my rehabilitation by paying a therapist who comes to my home.

On to the next chapter. Glad you are home; in the US, insurance pays for a certain amount of in-home physical therapy. The two guys who did my PT were great: very encouraging and the hour they were there was all about teaching me how to exercise on my own. I definitely got better sooner with their guidance. Hoping that being at home gives you a renewed incentive to make the most of the physical therapy.
