This is kick ass creativity.
The text sheet on Loctite says, when you have to use freezer and heat to assemble the two parts, put the Loctite on the cold part. For what it's worth. Looking good Pheas'

Cleaned up the edges, dismantled, acetoned, and 620'd. 72hr cure time for the 620 on aluminium… will be patient and wait before putting it in the freezer to mount the ring gear itself. Also need to trim the mounting bolts down as they sit a couple of mm proud atm (and do contact). Will lathe them flush too once the 620 is cured.

So patiently waited the 72hr cure time.

Flywheel in a plastic bag in the freezer. Ring gear on the bbq. Literally just fell into place. Didn't need to press it at all. Instantly cooled and locked. =)

Thread-locked and torqued back down. I see SIP are supplying torx bolts now. Can see why - the 18-20nm is rough on the hex. All but one made it to spec - one failed just shy. Gonna be a prick to get out probably…

Torqued…

And soldered the ends of the gear and brake cable… not very well - need some proper flux I think.

Battery was flat because I stupidly forgot to take the fuses out. Kicked and ran to get some charge back. Couldn't remember how I had left the wiring either - but was just the connections to the m.unit in the glove box. The original relay was all wired up ready to go - sitting under the electronic mass in the tool box.

Battery is still a bit flat I think… needs a proper ride. But fired up!

Think it's all good…

Time to button up and ride!

Wholly shit.
That is so crazy smooth.
Hats off to you.
Must have been a pleasing moment when it fired up.
Wonder if you will feel the extra weight of the ring gear on your fan - more torque?
Very nicely done.
