Just asking about what's best kit to go on a stock engine with 24/24 carb ?
Need more power but still want reliability so didn't not if 210 kit good for power and reliability or even a 230 ? Don't no this is why I'm askin lol

You are probably better off asking on the NSM page but have you thought about a change of exhaust first rather than a kit.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Some kits are better for touring, others are better for higher rpm power.
What about exhaust pipe what's on there now? |

Also, what are you capabilities to work on the bike? How much overall work are you willing/capable of doing along the way, i.e. porting and matching, port timings, ignition timing, carb tuning, etc.?
That and your tuning goals will all make a big difference. You may not even need a new top end if you're able and willing to do a little bit of O-Tuning (modifying & optimizing what's already on there) |

From own experience I wouldn't recommend you Pinasco noT even to my worst enemy. As I said it already over a dozen times over the last few years Pinasco "Nickasil" cylinder was the biggest POS ever put into production.
My Pinasco 210 cylinder kit crumbled like a smashed pack of dry crackers. The piston broke like crumble blue cheese, the all "mighty" Nickasil coated cylinder had the deepest groves that I have seen. It previously seized like half a dozen times. On the other hand I am currently running Malossi 210 cc kits on my P200E and also on my PX150 fitted with a P200 engine and a 210cc Malossi kit. No complaints for years, plenty of power, not a single soft seized. I didn't ported nothing, just slapped on the kit. I would recommend motul 710 2 stroke oil though. Best of luck! ⚠️ Last edited by scooterist on UTC; edited 1 time

There are really only 3 kits to look at on a 200
1 - "O" tune your original barrel 2 - Malossi, they last and are well made 3 - Quattrinni, if you have deep pockets --------- then we get onto exhausts 1 - then add a big box exhaust 2 + 3 = define your intended result and go from there |

If somebody offered me a stock p200 right now, i wouldnt kit it. Id stick on a road 2 or some other box pipe to give it some oomph and love the simplicity without the constant fiddling about fixing it and messing it up. They arent easy to find in the UK so to find a decent standard one that hasnt been modded is difficult.

I have a Malossi 210 and a SIP Road 3 on my P200 and other than matching the ports (filled & ported for the cylinder, flowed & matched for carb & airbox), I kept it pretty much stock, Autolube n' all.
It's not the fastest thing in the world and doesn't have the sort of "pull like a tractor" low-end torque of some of my other bikes, but it gets the job done dead reliably, is definitely the quietest scoot I own. |

Here goes for the unpopular suggestion. I've used a Pinasco 225 Super Sport on my main touring/long distance Vespa since 2014. It's had two new sets of rings since then (normal wear and tear), but has never missed a beat. Very strong, loads of pulling power, 70+ mph and no case mods required. To say it's been bullet proof would be an understatement. That said, I would probably go with a Malossi Sport when the time comes to replace it.

I think I'd be going for a Pinasco 225 if I upgrade my stock PX200EFL. Heard they are very rideable, reliable, and not having to mod the cases keeps future options easy. Not sure why that makes them an unpopular option. Keen to hear opinions.
Guessing the Malossi is better for tuning and numbers on the dyno/times on the track? But mines a daily rider…And as a relatively new rider I'm more than happy on stock for now. I'm also lucky to have scored a spare P200e. They definitely seem to be getting harder to find with more people hunting for them. Perhaps I'll play rougher with that one in the future… |

iv up jetted it, put to small holes in the filter in the love hart bit and put on a sip road 2 exhaust.
its a lot better then it was when i first got it and iv had about 72/73 mph out of it flat out. when i was 19 i had a 1986 vespa px125 with a 180cc malossi kit and it used to shift ! had 95 mph out that flat out so i think this px200e wouldnt be far of that but its a lot slower. in my head i thought the 200 wouldnt be far from that ? all i want i think is bit more acceleration ? thanks for all the advice i do take all this in |

Plug and play Malossi Sport. No need to port the cases and you'll get a great jump in power.

Malossi Sport all the way. Even P&P it will go really well. Super reliable and for every day use. Pinasco is hit & miss. Old design and piston could always turn to cheese any time…
