Hello. I'm considering the purchase of a vintage Vespa and I've found what is described as 62 VBB. However, I have a few concerns and I want to make sure I'm not getting a bodge. The front badge has wings, which I know can be a red flag. Second, the spare tire is a Casumina, which I believe is Vietnamese.

I'm new to this and I'm hoping more experienced members can take a look at these pics and give me a bit of feedback.

I appreciate your help!!!

That's about as bodge-y as they come. Run, don't walk, away from that one. Ideally after setting it on fire to save the next poor soul who might buy it.

They're probably still on the original center stand.

Glad you stopped by here first. Sometimes after purchase someone will drop in and ask how to for something on a bodge not knowing it's a bodge. After being informed the excitement to get running is less.

Good luck on your search! Reach out to the forum again if you see something up for consideration of buying.

Some members may have something coming up for sale that lives close enough for you to get.

Thank you all for your help. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I live in Kansas City. What suggestions do you have for finding a vintage scooter worth investing time and money in? Everything I run into looks bodgy. Is there a specific place to look or post (in addition to here)?

Facebook marketplace and groups (Vespa for Sale USA is one)

Local Craigslists seem pretty dead in regards to vehicles, but maybe not where you are

Also, if you run across what looks like a good deal, there are plenty of folks on here spread all over the place who have helped facilitate transactions that are local to them, and then you can get it shipped to your house for a few hundred bucks.

I've shipped multiple bikes and especially when they're pre-project so you're not too concerned about a scratch or dent in shipping, you can get some good deals that way, even accounting for the premium on shipping.

Maybe hit up keaton85. He's trying to get rid of a Stella and P200 right now and I'm sure would be happy to handle shipping from his end.

Oh, yeah. That, too. You could do a LOT worse than that.
