Show me your favorite bikes that you've sold.
Were they always favorites or did you only learn to appreciate them after they were gone?

First USA and always a favorite Have fun Joey...

I had two bikes I really loved. The Stealth was a P125 that i used as a test bed for any idea I had. and the Pumpkin was a primavera that was just about perfect in every way. I sold them both to allow me to build a smallframe as a new test bed, Stealth 2.0. When I opted to paint it white it became the Unstealth.

Here's my Serveta going away. I learned to ride on it. It got me involved in LCUSA, writing a newsletter, etc. But in the end it was kind of an unreliable pile no matter how much love I gave it. I checked the maintenance records I was keeping when I sold it, and I don't think it ever went more than 150 miles without me having to do something. So it had to go. Sweet looking bike, rode awesome, but yeah, too much work.

LOL, what a pile and what a beauty. But both obviously rather special and I'll bet that P was every bit as solid as the Primmy.

The Bajaj was great, and so was the PX150. I was sad to see these scooters go. I should've kept both!

I put 13,000 miles on this scooter. The black accents is reflective tape.

The PX150 was beautiful! I had a custom seat cover made locally, including the Vespa lettering on the side by the local shirtmaker. It had 600 miles on it when I got it and the PO had disconnected the oil hose and was premixing because the sight glass was

My Vespa 50 N called "Bertil". Hand-painted it, but never finished it off. Sold it over ten years ago and have always regretted it...

Wow, I hope you got a TON for it, that had to hurt. But that first picture is the best, even competes w/ the awesomeness of your scooter and deserves reposting.

I've seen "Bertil" alive and kickin' on a Swedish scooter forum a few years ago, so I know someone put him together. If I can remember right, "Bertil" was on the newer type of open rims when I saw the pic of him (I think I kept the painted closed rims for another project).

A few other pics of "Bertil":

My younger son had dibs on a scoot when he took his MC safety class & got his endorsement. Done. We finally settled on my Rally 200, the Mercedes Benz of my fleet . Kinda sad, but really glad too and so his he. I didn't ride it much and this way it'll still be around for me to enjoy whenever I like.

Now THAT is a machine I would miss dearly - maybe someday I'll get one, if one comes into my orbit. It's very cool though Voodoo that your son is getting it. At least it's still in the family.

@ Macgerk77: Nice scoot. I stupidly sold my '65 Allstate w/ a 180 top-end. If the bougie banker-type buyer is out there reading this, please seel it back to me. That thing was fast and ran cool and had 8" wheels. I miss that feeling.

I should have never sold this 64 GL. I bought it as a "box-o-scooter" and restored it. Stock except for the SS180 seat. It's not like GLs grow on trees. I sold it when I had kids. The buyer flipped it to another buyer who crashed it within a month.

Smallframe 50, got me back on 2 wheels after a 15 year break. Bought for occasional commuting and events (pic from Distinguished Gentleman's Ride), turned out to be great fun and became an everyday commuter. Up-sized to P2 for better indicators, disc brake and touring events. Miss the smallframe nimbleness, but not sure how I would explain the appearance of an ET3 in the garage.

(in reply to Rod two posts up, I did think about buying the green smallie (102 kit?))

Although not NSM, it's still a scooter. By far, it was my favorite and I always regret selling it, when I see it around in my town. Greatest ever scooter that came from the Gilera line, in means of Italian design (especially in this "Centenario Edition" - 100 years of Gilera), storage space under the seat, power (for a 300 engine) and handling (I would always scrape the center stand on twisty roads). It was an 80% motorcycle in scooter's clothing. While I had it, I upgraded the front suspension (stiffer springs and better oil) and front brakes (it came with only one disc at the left side). Wavy discs were from BRAKING and the Akrapovic came from a TDM900. It also had a tuned CVT, a Power Commander and a bigger fuel injector. I sold it in 2011 and got my Fazer...

I will always miss it...

The Happy Hippie smallie
Went down to the garage the other day and took some pictures of Bertil.
I was told he was waiting for an electronic ignition, then it was time to hit the road!

I forgot about this and just found out the good news here!

I was sad to lose my last running smallie, a V90, but it forced me to fix up a faster one w/ one more gear. 8)
It went to a very good home eventually, though, and went from this

to this now w/ big motor upgrade and some other slick stuff.

I sold this to fund a project. God I wish I hadn't as I didn't need to.

What a great thread and I sure do miss Bitza!

I just sold loyal old SnakeEyes which had become my SECOND favorite P200 to a great guy close by, for whom it will be his FIRST favorite! Happy/sad, I am... I got a BETTER one recently, w/ under 10K kilometers, original owner, perfect condition, blah blah blah. So good time to make some needed space and make another guy happy!

so the white one is gone... anybody want a killer deal on an old RAT Cosa?

But I feel better now, with this sweetie to ride, an early P200 E with no blinkers. Already switched seat and custom rack!

My first bike ever was a Series 2 TV175 that I bought when I was 15. I'll always miss it.

I loved this P200, too. I put 15,000 miles on it in a couple of years riding around the freeways in LA, and it always was so solid.

1980s Mod glory. The official Vespa bra, the Tower crash bars, DASMI seat, flyscreen, Mercedes hubcaps, BBQ rack

My first bike ever. Series 2 TV 175.

I had no idea how rare these were. I bought it for $400, if I remember.

It's amazing how well they fit!

I'd imagine they're hard to find these days.

Me and my mate made a midnight run into Decatur about '85 and pried four of those hubcaps off of an old Benz for sale in a parking lot. They pop on beautifully into the 10" rims. I did once hit some tracks too hard on East Ponce DeLeon and had the rear one fly off and pass me on it's way into the kudzu.
