Modern Vespa

I have never been out of the USA but if I ever travel I don't expect everyone to speak my language. If I was planning long term living in another country I would do a lot of preparation, including some language learning and if I was going to need to be employed I would be getting that job in advance, along with living arrangements that I could afford for several months.
I have moved a lot here in the USA and so didn't have the language problem but sure did have arrangements made as to where I would be staying and yes, even working was usually planned and I had a job to go to.
I am disorganized and don't keep a tidy house, my studio is often a chaos in progress, but I don't go away without having my life in order, plans, know where I will be staying and yes, that my scooters left at home will be safe while I am gone….

Spent a few days in the Netherlands during a softball tour of Northern Europe with my daughter and here college team. A couple days in Volendam and Amsterdam. Traveling with a team, we did strictly the tourist stuff, but the people were kind. The seemed especially warm and appreciative of the effort as I fumbled through my Dutch phrases - Like anywhere else, please and thank you went a long way.

Nothing but fond memories for us from the Netherlands and its people.

I lived on the Netherlands from 84-88, had a great time there. met my wife there (USAF as well) got married in Soest.

We do miss alot of things from there. Example beer delivered every week to you door steps.

No doubt you would....as pretty much any sane person. It's a very user-friendly country, with (as some influential people say) quite attractive people.

I do have to admit I was quite unimpressed with a trip through the infamous red light distric though. Seems like they put their oldest, least attractive women in the windows.

I just checked to see if dear Mrs. Morter's book is still around. Yep.

And a peek at the reviews revealed that before our lovely Spanish lady dissed the Netherlands, Mrs. Morter took a swipe at it...

Guess we all don't have to agree.

In Italy some would say that the writer of those questionable things needs to have sex ...

I've spent all of four days of my life (consecutively, in late 2017) in Blighty, so I'm not one to judge. (Except for the Skoks…I shall forever be enthralled by them.)

But, just prior to that, I spent the better part of two weeks in Vienna. That, my friends, was sheer heaven, scooters included.
