You're under warranty. Any "fixes" you undertake on your own will likely void the warranty on the bike.

Only the Advanced versions have reverse. It can be handy, but being a Italian vehicle I'm gonna venture to say "just one more thing to go wrong".

150 miles seems like a long way to go in reverse! Hope it is an easy fix for the dealer.

check fuses and connections also if its sitting outside in the rain get another button to engage the reverse

No, it uses a separate motor installed in the rear hub.

It is a Bendix mechanism type motor (as found in starters), and the unit will shut off after a few yards to preserve its life.
