Is it correct that only one of the two headlamps works at one time, one for daylight riding and the other for nightime?

One is low beam and turns on when the engine is started up, the other is high beam although both use a H7 bulb.

Be aware that the low bulb is gonna need semi regular replacing since it has a lifespan of about 1000hours. Replacement is a PITA due to the numerous screws and parts that need to removed.

I installed a OSRAM LED replacement. It is the only LED that fits properly within the confines of the headlights including the rubber dust cover. Still going strong after 2 years, and it comes with a 5 year warranty I think.

All those cheapo Chinese dogshite LED bulbs are garbage and burn out even faster than the halogen. BTDT

I think you did post a link to the Osram before... can't find it now, would appreciate a repost... Did you also say you lose the high beam when installing the LED? I can't even imagine trying to do it myself, so will give it to my local guy as he does the 6k mile service in a few weeks.
Cheers...p

You do not lose the high beam, BUT you can only install the LED replacement in the low beam lens since Piaggio uses a proprietary locking tab mechanism for the high beam bulb.

In other words, everything stays the same except your low beam is now replaced with the LED one. Since we hardly use high beam bulb replacement should be reduced by 90% or more.

Good beam pattern, no fan to go out, no blinding of other people and more juice to flow back into the battery. 100% plug and play.

Installation tip: Test the bulb inside the low beam lens housing before screwing everything back up. IF it does not turn on, reverse polarity (swap the 2 wires at the bulb end) and double check you are making a solid connection. I vaguely remember if you push the spade connector all the way they kinda felt loose. Pulled them back just a hair until it made solid contact and everything has been working great since.

This is also a great time to check all other electrical connectors at the front and Deoxit everything as well as doing a tilt lock fluid replacement if not done before.
