Attila, you got skills! That Vespa you restored looks fantastic as well as the other machine. The only down side of this one up for sale is that it is a Allstate, which means it is lacking the front shock as that's the way they were sold in this country to keep the price down. Also, the speedometer came as an option and not included in the base machine. All well and fine if you stick to smooth roads and don't go fast - which these machines are not capable in stock form.

A co-worker restores old Honda motorcycles from the late 60's to mid 70's. Te first one he purchased was a CB350. I laughed at it when I saw this rusted, neglected trash bike proudly strapped in the back of his truck! Around 4 months later he rode it in and WOW, he did a great job. He did everything himself, even lacing his own wheels! I've helped him do a few bikes over the years and I'm still impressed with the skill set he has acquired. I've also learned a bunch of stuff as well just from helping. One day I may pick up a basket case Vespa or something equally vintage that catches my fancy and give it a second chance. Nice work to all the above restorations!

Is it hard to upgrade to have a front shock? I'd guess that you'd need to swap out the whole front fork, which is probably hard to find.

Hub, bearings, races, and modify or find a Vespa fork. On these older Vespas, it is extremely important to find one that is not missing parts as they are almost impossible to track down. Luckily, there is a guy on the NSM side named Jon Gick (Gickspeed) who knows these machines and does wonders with them.

I'll keep all that in mind, as I've been tempted to buy one of the Allstates when I see them on CL.

To be clear, there is nothing wrong with them. If you want to keep it stock looking, then add a stiffer spring. They are fine machines to putt around on and are plentiful in the US - Sears sold a lot of them.

Nice, nice job. Years ago it was also a second job for me but my specialty was the small Italian motorcycles of the 50s and 60s.

Ah, Atill, how many would kill for that (Honda CB500 Four) right now…

Suppose I had my one chance right here, but there were literally too many things in the way of getting this going.

Stock, with eight inch wheels, it feels like a pogo stick. You can still get front forks fairly cheaply, and there are kits to switch to a disk brake, 10 inch wheel conversion.
