After 20 odd years of wanting a Vespa, I finally took the plunge! I just got a new to me, 2016 GTS 300 with 1500 miles on it. The original owner did a ton of upgrades, including custom paint and lots of chrome. I know the chrome isn't for everyone, but I like it! The thing I appreciate the most are the two AdMore Lighting kits on the back. It has the LED bar and the tail light kit for the top case reflectors. It makes the scooter very visible from behind.

I'm planning to remove the audio system as I don't imagine I'll use it and those chrome bullet speakers are a little much for me. I'm also planning on redoing the seat upholstery. It has cheeky seat covers on it right now, but the vinyl is cracking on the piping and I'm not fond of the lavender piping color anyway. The original seat is in perfect condition, but I don't think the black seat looks so great with the current paint color. I see a photoshop project in my future to figure out a new upholstery color Laughing emoticon

I have my permit and just went through a motorcycle safety program this weekend. I am looking forward to having time to ride around my quiet neighborhood to get some practice. I'm also very fortunate to be in San Diego so I can ride year-round and, more importantly, Scooterwest is nearby if I run into any trouble.

Thanks for all of the great info that I've come across on MV so far!

Welcome, lucymae13!
Congratulations on your new-to-you, gorgeous Vespa. I fall into the chrome-lover category with a Vespa decked out similar to yours and a motorcycle with a chrome tank. Shiny is good! Razz emoticon

Ohhh, an absolute BEUAT of a scoot.

Are the speakers mounted to the kneepads? And it looks like that phone mount was drilled into the oem windscreen and mounted with matching hardware. All cleverly done, I'd say - can't imagine the person behind those mods was negligent of maintenance at any point. You'll never look back.

Congrats on the scoot! I'm a fan of chrome on things that are classically styled like a Vespa so it works! I've got a GTV300 with chrome rims and it looks awesome IMO.

Yes, the speakers are mounted to the kneepads along with the audio controls. And the phone mount is indeed, drilled through the windshield with matching hardware. I'm in the process of cataloging all of the add-ons - it's a big list! I'm not sure where the bar came from that is drilled into the windshield, but the phone mount/ clamp assembly is SlipGrip if you're interested. Here are a couple more photos so you can see those details a bit better.

Nice scooter, and welcome! Yeah, those speakers don't move me too much...and frankly listening to other people's music on a PTW can be a bit annoying. I'm with you too on the the seat cover....if you're not into the original, the nice thing about Cheeky Seats is they'll get you pretty much anything you want, and pretty easy to fit.

I'm always amazed at low mileage scooters...I know everyone marches to the beat of a different drum, but even up here in the frozen wastelands it's nothing putting on a thousand miles in a year.

I'm sure you'll be out having a blast with a perpetual grin on your face!

Congratulations and welcome from Connecticut. I love the look of your new scoot… Awesome colors and chrome. So Cal sounds warm and scooter friendly… I try to ride year round, but snow makes in dangerous. Last week the morning rides' temperatures were in the high 20s (but it was dry, at least).

That's a heck of a lot of added bling.

How well do the speakers work?

Good for you girl. It seems to me by your posted pictures, that you are living the dream...

I really like your choice of Vespa, and like you, I would remove those speakers, but I would also remove the front crash bars and the rear metal luggage on the top of the top box. It is too far back behind the rear wheel and if you put anything up there, your front wheel will wobble a lot, making it dangerous to ride.. But feel free to try first...

Welcome to the club...

Yes, how well can you hear them at 40 - 50 mph? Or are they just for low speeds?

I like the front crashbar too! My best guess is that it is the Cuppini legshield crashbar meant for a PX. Scooterwest has a note on their site that some people are installing on GTS/ GTVs, so I think that's what it is.

I actually haven't tried them at speed because I really don't need the distraction while getting comfortable with everything. I'm also not fond of listening to other people's music when out and about, so I'm not inclined to inflict my listening habits on others!

Otherwise they sound fine, but nothing special. I'd prefer to just declutter the whole glovebox area.

Very, very nice! And you have riding weather where you live! I rode motorcycles for 20 years and my feet are just now getting used to having nothing to do when I ride, except to serve as landing gear. Besides a Vespa group, you may find a chapter of Women on Wheels in your area. I rode with them about 5 years and took trips to CA from MO, and to Colorado. They always had 'good riding habits', Scooter emoticon as in safe. Be blessed and be safe! Scooter emoticon

Wow! And you already have that great Classic Racks floor rack with a place for your cup waiting, nice as that is on my list for the Primavera, my other rides unfortunately will not mount a Classic Rack…
