I'm with you on this. Pineapple used for specific purpose to offset spice is really great. I don't like the typical Hawaiian with ham, so I get Pineapple, jalapenos, green peppers and pepperoni. Pineapple haters be damned!

Some fruits on pizza can be quite good. A local shop makes a pizza topped with mango and proscuitto which I think is excellent.

Why the very wide crust...?
To me it is a way of up-selling - a larger size pizza with the same amount of filling.
If it's a proper sourdough, bubbly, scorched crust flash-baked at super-high temperatures a la Napoli, it's the best part of the pizza. The toppings are just an enhancement. Razz emoticon

I never used to be particular about crust until I started making my own from scratch and firing it in my own pizza oven. Now I take a bite of it first.
That being said, while my appreciation for good crust runs much deeper now, I am not above some fast-delivery raccoon chow either.

Here's my own too much cheese on a pizza anecdote.

One of the first times I met the missus' parents, it was because Nitro Circus (insane motorcycle stunt guys) were passing through the town her family was from (her parents still live there).

I thought, cool, we'll go to her old stomping ground, see her parents, and go see some guys wilding out on motorcycles. Something for everyone!

We get to her parents and her mother offers to make us a quick pizza she picked up from Costco, "I just have to throw it in the oven!" okay sure. But before she does that, even though it came with cheese, she proceeds to shred another full mozzarella ball on it.

It's my first time at the could-one-day-be-in-laws so I say nothing and eat the heaviest pizza slice I have ever lifted.

We get in the car afterwards, not even half way to the Nitro Circus event, and I know something isn't right. "where's the nearest pharmacy" - she starts asking why - "No time, pharmacy, ASAP."

It was cool to have my girl experience something that I really enjoy. She said she really enjoyed it and that Nitro Circus put on a really good show that night.

Hopefully next time they're in the area we can go again and I can watch the show this time. Instead of spending the whole event in the stadium bathroom. There is definitely such thing as too much cheese on a pizza.

I think that's a good start but you could brush up on presentation and of course add the essential pineapple.

I'm sure nutelli would be better than this abomination of pasta that cincinnatiins call skyline chili!
Aka shredded orange Halloween bucket plastic over chili and not pasta. .

And for any one from Cincinnati who may come to it's defense... yes I've tried it in Cincinnati at a skyline restaurant and I stand by my description. Bleh emoticon

Yes!

I have the same position with beer. Any beer is a good beer if it is a beer that you like. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it. If you enjoy it, drink it. Except Corona, that sh*t's nasty.

First time I drank, I started with Corona. I kept saying that it tasted like pee.
Then I had a Guinness... Which I thought tasted like broccoli.
"Ugh! Give me back the pee!"

I never took a liking to beer, if that wasn't already inferred.

When Corona came to the US, it sold very well from the beginning, and started to cut into other brand's market share. One of the Heineken distributors was alleged to have started a rumor that Corona had human urine in it. Sales were affected for quite a while. It's hard to overcome a rumor like that. It's not like you can advertise that your beer does not contain measurable amounts of human urine.
When I get all beer snobby, I always remember that in Chile, Budweiser sells for more than Paulaner, and in Japan, Coors costs more than Heineken. And we pay a lot for Fosters.

I used to travel rather a lot for work. Found myself in Israel with a couple of co-workers.
We were in Nahariya, a nice seaside sort of place, in a small restaurant after a long day.
Beers all around, we asked to order our food. I forget who wanted what.
But, someone wanted a pizza with meat, and that was immediately denied (cheese and meat being not-kosher).
OK, cool, tuna pizza.
Then another person wanted something meaty.
Nope. Can't serve meat and cheese at the same table. That was curious to us, being, well, American.
I forget how it was all resolved, but in the end we all sat together and ate and drank that meal. And the waitress was more or less just amused, not offended.

Anyway, if you like pizza one way, and I'll take mine another, I'd be happy to share a pitcher.

As long as you don't like Bud Light. Laughing emoticon

We had the New Yorker available for some time here in Aus (Dominos) and it had no garlic or Parmesan... Then again the real Parmesan it is so rare to find even in restaurants...

The one they use on pizza, while called Parmesan, do smell like made with pecorino...

PS..

I had being waiting all my life as well for this very important thread...

You are correct. But that also looks exactly like the one here that was sold by Dominos (a large franchiser). They are cocked in an electric oven on a rotating mail chain...

You can't really expect quality out of a system like that, mainly consistency and quantity, that it is after all the main aim of the game... I think the oldest guy working in there hasn't reached puberty yet, so experience is not an option...
