Anyone here using this headlight on their PX?
I'd be putting an H4 LED replacement in it it.

$85 is a bit expensive, but, I don't mind paying it if it is a good quality unit with good optics.

yep!! I have one on my P200e and it it very bright. I purchased mine a few years ago and it still works great. As a matter of fact, my P200E have had a voltage output issue which it burned my original sealed beam. I replaced it with this newer style and it was much brighter.

About 3 months ago I put another brand new replacement sealed beam(original equipment) and it burnt both low and high beam so I am back at the one that you are inquiring.

It is also very easy to install , it is a plug and play.

I'm thinking about upgrading from my stock 1980 P200 headlight but I'm a little confused.

When you say Plug & Play, does that mean that it uses the same 3 prong connection that is on the stock P200? Does the bulb plug into the headlight and then the headlight plug into the 3 prong connection from the scooter?

I'm guessing that the bulb is AC and doesn't need to be converted to DC... is that right?

Does the stock bracket on the scooter have to be modified to hold this halogen light?

Headlight comes complete with the required harness. Runs on AC. Attaches directly to the headset, the existing ring from the sealed beam headlight is not needed anymore. You'll need to splice the existing wiring. Black: ground, Yellow/Black: Pilot, Brown: Low beam, Purple: High beam...

Correct bulb is actually P43T/HS1, 12V-35W/35W.

Does an H4 fit correctly in the reflector assembly, or are the keying tabs different?

If I recall it's a direct fit but you must never put in a 55W/60W bulb. It will eventually melt the headlight (all plastic)...

I'm going LED, so, that won't be a problem. Power consumption of the LED should be about 20-30W max, plus much less of that is heat dissipation than a halogen.

Got this headlight from Scooter Mercato https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Headlight-Assemblies/582946
And this bulb. https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Bulbs/H435-35
Still building the P so haven't used it but it fits nicely in the headset.

Actually SaFiS, I would prefer going LED but I know that that requires converting the power to the headlight to DC and I don't know how to do that. Electrical work kinda intimidates me anyway.

ADVMonster's first generation H4 can run on AC. I've got one that I'd like to sell.

That said, I don't know how well it'll fit in the PX headlight, but, can check it when I
get the new reflector assembly.

PM me if interestd.

You're 100% spot in there Safis! I've melted down one of those plastic sealed beams when I tried using a 45/45 watt bulb.

....Except for the US market 2005 PX150. Our 05 PX was designed to meet US DOT rules, so our plastic sealed headlights are rated for a 55/60W H4 bulb! Notice that the US version doesn't have a pilot light.

The 2005 PX headlight is in the right side of the pic.

Thats a good little bit of info about the difference in headlights. Guess I'll hang on to this '05 headlight after all

Another option for H4 housing is a COSA headlight. They are fluted glass front, plastic back; and bolt in place of the original just like the '05 version would. Rated wattage: 35/35. The fluted glass gives it an classic look, compared to the modern all clear lens.
