This scooter with 15 inch wheels is capable of speeds up to 75 miles per hour.
It is good looking with a price tag of $11800 USA. Available in 2022 in USA.

Here are the problems I can not get over:

1. Only a 80 mile (129 Kilometer) cruising range on one charge. I could not
get back and forth to my group ride kick off locations. Obviously meant
for urban riding or closer destination places in Europe.

2. It would cost $800.00 USA to install the charging station in my garage.
I could drive my existing scooter 16,000 miles on $800 worth of fuel.

I could really go for this scoot - but for cruising range.

It's meant to be a commuting tool. Most people commute less than 80 miles a day. The worst part is simply the cost. People with bottomless wallets might spring for it, but it won't work for people who want two wheels to get to their jobs.

Does the seat double up as a surf board?

Asking for a friend.

Rumour is that it can be used as an ironing board

Joking apart I really like it's design but I think it's going to go the same way as the C1.

Brave but misguided.

The design makes me think of Blade Runner (original). Maybe Ridley Scott has friends at BMW

Battery Technology is just not here yet.

I am all for a cleaner environment that electrical vehicles contribute to. The
problem is you have to over pay way to much for purchasing the vehicle.

Tesla vehicles are everywhere in my town. Kind of the hipster, I am successful, thing to do. No one can drive them out of the city. Further, despite the proliferation of charging stations, who wants to interrupt their cross country road trip for +1 hour time to stop and charge your all electric vehicle.

Hey, Vespas are expensive. Maybe we are all hipsters.

I like the look of the BMW CE04. It simply does not fit into anything practical for me.

I am still waiting for "Back to the Future" and the "Flux Capacitor".

Over and out in Minnesota.

Its better specs than Vespa's attempt at EV by far. I love the style.. Judge Dredd.

https://propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/78/lot/18337/

Unfortunately that lower price tag is really out the window fast if you upgrade anything on it.

BTW, you literally do not need to install an charger at home. You don't even really need to install a charger at home for a tesla which uses and stores so much more power. This thing with its drastically smaller battery should be chargeable just fine on normal house outlets for the range you will use it for.

It helps to have a charger at home with a tesla cause you will get more range before you need to fill up at a "gas station" (super charger), but completely not necessary for any 2 wheeled EV. Funny how as soon as people get an EV they instantly forget that they never had a gas station at their house prior. Super chargers are still drastically cheaper than gas, and fractionally more expensive than your home electric bill. So save that home install money for something else, and if you really really really need that large charge top off, make a pit stop at the local "gas station".

"Use the standard Mode 2 charging cable (provided as standard) featuring a conventional plug to simply charge your BMW CE 04 at a domestic socket. Thanks to the 2.3 kW charging output your scooter will charge from 0% to 80% in around three and a half hours using the sixteen-foot long charging cable."

I can't get myself to ride auto cvt bikes, but if this one were like 4k cheaper (lowest list price with top model options) I would buy it in a second and use it daily for commuting, and get over my aversion to cvt transmissions.

It's so expensive and (IMO) so ugly. Not their worst design, but not great. 80 miles doesn't bother me IF it was priced to match its around-town-only status.

BTW, that 11k list price was when they announced it. Their current online configure tool there is no possible way to get the base 11k price. Everything is at their previous top model 14.5k price point.

Which squarely puts it in no thanks range for me, where 8k is yes please.

BTW, just learned the current BBB plan that was passed in house contains not only incentive for ev cars/trucks but also a 30% ev credit for motorcycles up to 7500 total credit. So if it doesn't drop out of the bill on its way through the senate, and BMW still does have a base model of this for 11000 then it will be slightly more attainable. But I bet they will just jack up the price 30% to keep it the same.

If they rake the price up even more even less people will buy it which will be a shame.

If I was going to buy an electric scooter I'd buy it from a major manufacturer such as BMW, even if I knew they'd probably be losing money on every one.
