Let's use this thread for announcements and commentary on all the new and upcoming petrol and electric motorcycles, scooters and mopeds as they happen over the next few days at EICMA show in Milan.

In less than 2 and a half hours doors will open to the Press for pre-viewing. There won't be much longer after that when the first news will hit the web sphere and social media.

Many have predicted and commented (myself included) in the last few months not to expect much ground shattering news coming from Vespa camp this year, but time will tell.

Keep 'em coming, post your thoughts and comments here

Lol! Good one mate!

I don't expect frenzy of announcements for the first few hours, or at least until the media there pulls out cameras to start snapping and laptops to write about it.

No, it is Scottish COUNTRY dancing. I used to do highland dancing 30-40 years ago, and loved it, but not in my backyard. I now attend 3 dance classes a week at different clubs, not bad for an 83 year old. Lots of nice ladies in the classes.

When you're hooking up at 83, the kilt probably saves a fair bit of time.

Vespa releases (Vespa Ellectrica) Red

The only change from the original Vespa Ellectrica seems to be the color and the logo styling.
Cool color and welcome addition to the "cold" silvery blue appearance of the original Ellectrica.

Ironically, aside from the actual Vespa, that little kick scoot seems to be the only thing so far that doesn't look like it came from a sci-fi production. It looks like someone just took a thin slice down the middle of a smallframe.

I like the RED version of the Elettrica. Very nice.

I post as they come about as they seem to be coming out every 30min or so first day of the show. The links you posted are more generic and don't tend to have wide coverage. I also tried to post relevant links that might be of interest to this forum. The intention was to post here and for people to post their thoughts. I won't anymore, thank you. Also, if you don't like it, give it a pass, don't need to click on it. Just saying...

Mate it was just a suggestion, to make it easier for you, and for the rest of us trying to follow your intentions...

But seeing the above, I'll instead follow your suggestion and give it a miss...

For those following along as it unfolds, new posts for new announcements makes more sense, as this marks the thread unread for those who have read the previous reports.

So, OP is doing it correctly.

They seem to do that kind of customization during trade shows, Vespa had this exhaust on a GTS Super Sport during 2019 EICMA show too. It's a genuine Vespa part, made by Arrow although more expensive than the comparable Arrow model.

I read on a german forum that when the dealer installs this they also remap the ecu ...

This mentions the remapping https://www.vespa.com/ch_DE/zubehor/vehicle-accessories/performance/1a020151/
Quote:
Sport exhaust system with sporty design and high-tech features specially made for Vespa GTS 300 HPE. Manufactured, tested and approved by Piaggio Group R&D center, installation of this accessory preserve the right to claim warranty. Made from carbon and stainless steel, this sport exhaust is lighter than original equipped one. Dedicated Vespa mapping, fully homologated for European market up to Euro 5 emission standard. Exclusive Vespa branded.

I wonder if i could convince my dealer to put this mapping on my Supertech which has the Arrow exhaust ... But mine is a euro 3 bike (the Arrow exhaust is euro 4) not a euro 5 like the Vespa branded exhaust

Your Supertech is I'm assuming 300 HPE, so should be built to Euro 5 regs and Euro 5 ready.

There was a post few months ago on a German forum about this, asking if they should install Euro 5 aftermarket exhaust on a "Euro 4 HPE GTS", by consensus over there it appears even those early 2019 HPEs were Euro 5 already, out of factory. Best to double check as I know the ones you get in Australia are built in Piaggio factory in Vietnam, emission regs for South East Asia, AUS and NZ are lot lower than the European ones, so it could well be Euro 4 spec.

checked using multiple sources. mine is Euro3. Supertech HPE VIN and engine numbers (Euro 3?)

even the air box, air filter and air intake are *completely different* to the european and north american bikes.

Ok mate.

I got curious after reading your other thread and entered my VIN number in that link you provided. This is what I got for mine.

The request has been forwarded. Result of request:

NO recall campaigns are pending for this vehicle

Mine is also from Vietnam factory, January 2021. No mention of Eur3/4/5 compliance in the result, though.

Cheers.

choose Italian in the dropdown before clicking submit.

also read the specs page in the paper manual that came with your bike (not a pdf of the web)

BTW should also move this conversation to the thread I linked above
