Has anyone used these torsion controllers in their clutch? It makes this high screeching sound as if it's rubbing very fast. I have to play with the throttle to get it to stop and it seems like it does it more when the bike is cold. Think I'm just going to take it out its super annoying

Maybe the bearings in the rear sheave need lubrication? There is a ball bearing and a caged roller bearing inside the fixed sheave that allows the assembly to spin with the belt when the clutch hasn't engaged. The sheave needs to be broken down, cleaned and lubed with fresh grease every so often.

You might have noticed that when the clutch opens and closes, it twists slightly. Because the clutch spring is under a lot of load, there can be a tendency for the spring to stick at either end, bind up, and try to move straight up and down, instead of moving freely with the twisting of the clutch. The torsion controller prevents this from happening. So there's really nothing about it or how it works that could cause the noise you are hearing.
If it wasn't making the noise before, and you've taken the clutch apart and put it back together again, the odds are that something either came loose or isn't seated correctly. When you open it up, you're more than likely going to find the problem right away. Anytime you work on something and it's not working right after you put it back together, it's better to take it apart again and figure out what's wrong than to rev it up until you can't hear the noise anymore. The problem is still there, and it's likely getting worse. |

and also, any decent wheel bearing/high speed grease will be fine. you don't need a lot so a whole tub should last you damn near forever. get a little flux brush or some gloves for the sticky grease before embarking on said adventure.
