Welcome to the Modern Vespa Wiki Discussion

Note for newbies: Please do NOT start a new topic about a problem you might have - post instead in 'General Discussion' or the 'Not so Modern' forums as appropriate.

What you're looking at here is merely the discussion half of the wiki -- the actual content exists separately but intrinsically linked to this discussion. If you want to see the actual articles we're discussing here, take a peek at the Main Page of the Modern Vespa Wiki. Feel free to follow the links around and explore. You might want to also take a look at the How To Use This Wiki article, which has a brief introduction to wikis, as well as practical instructions for how to go about editing articles.

At the bottom of every article page, there's a Discuss button, which will bring you back to this discussion section. The thread you end up in depends on which article you hit the Discuss button, as each article has a discussion thread and vice-versa. Confused yet? Don't be. Think of this area as backstage, behind the scenes. This is where all the arguing and haranguing takes place so that we can present you with a nice, polished article on the other side.

Another shortcut: see the red bar at the top of this discussion thread? That indicates that there's an article associated with this thread, and it contains a link to go directly to that article.

If you have a question about one of the articles, you'll want to ask it in the correct thread for that article. The easiest way to do this is to start at the article, not here, and hit the Discuss button for that article. Go ahead and post your question, or comment, or suggestion. Someone will eventually come along and address your post (we hope). Try not to ask questions in this thread, unless your question is directly related to the Main Article Page.

If all else fails, you can always start a new thread in this discussion area. Don't worry, if you create a thread here, no article will be created as a result.

I noticed that the main page of the wiki is locked. Suggest that the Glossary Glossary of Terms be added to [section]"This Forum"

Done. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you see more stuff like this, post about it in the discussion thread of the article that needs to be linked. Replies to announcements and stickies tend to blend into the background and become invisible.

I can't find the trailering wiki?
Thanks!

Oops! Under transport....I never remember or think of that term when looking! Could it be renamed?

Now that you mention it, I would probably have searched for "trailering" myself.

Done.

Additional: Undone. It turns out that there are at least three articles covering different aspects of transporting/trailering. The one I changed (and changed back) turned out to address transporting in the back of a pick-up. I'll try to come up with a better solution.

Perhaps they could be combined. I can't seem to find the other two.....

Thanks Tom

Perhaps they can. I've made a note to re-visit this when I have a bit of time.

For now, here are the three links:

How To Transport Your Scooter via Hitch Carrier

Scooter Transport

Transporting Your Scooter

Not all deal with trailering, but all deal with transport.

Hitch carrier needs some serious work! It implies any vehicle is capable as longs a 2" receiver is used. Poorly explained IMO. How about a title like trailering and hitches?

Thanks for taking the time!

Under "Upgrades & Accessories" / "Exhaust Upgrades" - it points to a page about installing a Leo Vince exhaust on a GTS/GTV. I would like to create a new page for "Exhaust Upgrades", on which I would list all the current after-market exhausts available for GTS/GTV. It could have a section for installation threads, which could point to that Leo Vince one that is pointed to now.

Just seems like this link was intended for a more general page, and I'm interested in starting that general page.

What is the protocol for moving the "Exhaust Upgrades" link? Do I just do it? I don't want to piss anybody off...

Thanks.

-Dan

EDITED: Here is my proposed page for Exhaust Upgrades.

Done. And the article slug is now "wiki-exhaust-upgrades".
