This is the discussion area for the main Frequently Asked Questions article. If you have a question that you think is frequent enough to be covered here, post a reply and tell us about it. Hopefully one of the wiki editors will come along and create an article.

Here's the article: Specialty Tools
My goal with that article (tho not finished) is to document what specialty tools you need, with pictures of the official ones and links to articles on how to make the home-made versions, where appropriate. |

Wiki newbie questions:
What should I be looking for in a helmet? Can you recommend any hot weather helmets that are DOT approved? Riding gear and what you should look for? |

However, IMHO product recommendations don't belong in the Wiki, which should be as objective and brand-agnostic as possible. We have a Reviews section of the forum and there have been many threads with discussions and recommendations for various types of helmets. Thing is, the recommendations are often all over the map and too varied to be of much use unless you've already done your research and have narrowed down your options. |

Missing S150 on the mileage section of the FAQ
Could you add the S150?
Mine does about mid 70s when driving ~40mph (city), and mid 60s when driving 55-60mph. |

Probably a dumb question, but....
Probably a dumb question but I couldn't/can't find any answers to it anywhere on the site, not in the Wiki or anywhere else, so I'm trying here.
Have been an MV member for several years. During that time I've both posted on and off, and also sent and received numerous PM's. Recently a fellow MVer responded to a thread I'd started - about searching for an obscure old Scooter Decal/Sticker I was looking for - he had one, PM'ed me, I PM'ed him back, and he sent it to me - an act of MV generosity! That was a few weeks ago. Then he just sent me a PM yesterday to follow up. I tried to PM him twice this morning - but discovered, to my amazement, that the PM's I sent him didn't get 'sent' - instead they seem permanent stuck in my Message Outbox (they haven't gone into the Sentbox, even though after I pressed 'Submit', I got a message saying my message had been 'sent'. But that's not the case. So then I searched the site - and the Wiki - exhaustively - trying to find some solution to this weird problem. Couldn't find any. The closest I came was that, for similar issues, one should contact an administrator. Easier said than done - since I don't know who administrators are - or how to contact them. Further complicating my frustrations is the fact that since as of this morning my PM's don't seem to be sending, even if I could contact an administrator (presumably by PM?) - the PM wouldn't go through. So in desperation I'm posting this request for help here. Sorry if this is the wrong place - but I couldn't find anywhere else. Hope one of the old-school MV illuminati can help me out here. Many thanks in advance! |

A PM stays in the Outbox until it's been opened by the recipient - then it appears in your Sentbox.
This is no guarantee that the recipient has read it or understood it, but it's better than having just one box for outgoing messages. |

You have the most simple version in a range of features, but the basic design of your HiPer4 engine and the most modern (unnamed) BV 350 engine is the same. The biggest difference is water-cooling, where you have air-cooling and electronic injection, where you have a carb. The BV 350 also has a different clutch from all other models, if you consider that part of the engine.
Your engine compares best to an air-cooled carbed bike like the older LX 150 or S150 with the LEADER engines and less with the newer LEm engine with 3 valves. You could also compare yours to the newer quadrovalvole, but that is also a 50cc and equally rare here. |

Revolver Exhaust on Vespa PX 125
Hi all,
I am wondering whether removing the can end muffler of my revolver exhaust would do any harm to my Vespa. I'm thinking it won't as all the mileage would still be there so the gases and heat are still exiting the engine. I'm only talking about the very end of the exhaust referred to as the can. Thank you[/list] |
