Modern Vespa

...but then, it didn't work.

Right at the beginning, I was diligent. I placed my master brown AND one of the blue copies in my safe.

And then the safe was cut out of the wall when I was on vacation.


Having only one blue key left, I called around a few local locksmiths. The only who had Vespa keys and a programmer (XHorse VVDI Key Tool Max) tried her best, but it didn't work.

Only way to start the bike was removing the cloned XT27A chip from the key and holding the original blue Vespa next to it.

Is it clear what she's doing wrong from the pictures attached?

Clear as a bell.

If someone went thru the trouble pulling a safe outta a wall with your extra keys inside, just claim them on the insurance and get new keys and ECU. The robbers know your location and now have your Vespa keys.

I sorta suspect the Piaggio keys are proprietary to a Piaggio programmer. I sent one of my keys on the first day of getting my Liberty to AF1 for a clone. I rarely loose keys but when I do they never turn up again.

I have cloned many keys and made many chips from reading ecu key codes.

Scooter West in San Diego made me new keys from my blue one. IIRC about $30 each. They work perfectly.
