Has anyone put one of those universal mufflers on a LX150 2V.

Already getting cabin fever cooped up in the garage in Canada. Thinking about random stuff to do. Cutting my stock muffler off, measuring the stock pipe diameter, getting one of those $40 universal mufflers, and McGyver'ing some brackets seems a lot smarter than dropping $400 on a decent exhaust.

Am I going crazy or should I try this? Has anyone else given it a try?

LX is carbed so should I assume rejet required afterwards?

You will succeed in making it loud and that is all.

Well, and a bit of weight reduction.

But no performance gain along that route.

Cool. Thank you. Not really looking for any performance gain. It's a secondary/tertiary bike for me. More of a make work / play project.

Just wanting to make sure it would be possible, I wouldn't be harming anything, oh, and, jets - I'm guessing try it and find out is the answer?

I believe the CAT (if there is one) is in the muffler. So may not pass your next emissions test?

We don't have emissions tests here anymore. Never did it for motorcycles here. Most recently they even stopped doing it for cars. Something about a single factory in China will put out more C0 than every vehicle in our province or something

But thank you for the quick thinking though. It's still appreciated.
